    Movies & TV App Bugs


    As of the Nov 20th update there are two major bugs on the Movies & TV app.

    1. Screen dims as if going into power save mode while watching a movie (after about 10-15 minutes), pressing a button or moving the stick undims the screen

    2. During panning or motion scenes there is frame hitching/jerky motion. This is a constant regardless of the network speed or type, happens on every console i've tried with the NXOE.

    Cast to Xbox one not working

    Pressing the "B" button on the game pad causes the Movies & TV app to remove the "connecting" screen, and the video then becomes visible.

    The bug does not seem to happen if the Movies & TV app is already running before you start casting. So, as another work-around you can start the Movies & TV app on the Xbox One first.

    [BUG] if Movies & TV app has an update, casting fails until reboot

    If the Movies & TV app has an update and you tried to do "Cast to device -> Xbox One" from Windows not only will the cast fail but the Movies & TV app cannot be opened until the system is shut
    down.

    Attempting to open the Movies & TV app on the xbox will simple create the icon click noise and the app fails to open.

    After restarting the xbox, launching the Movies & TV app, applying the update, then casting will continue to work as normal.

    This has occurred that last 3 times there has been an update to the Movies & TV app

    Hi StarCreature648,

    It's possible it could be a bug with the app or with the TV shows you are switching from. Does it matter what movie or TV show you are switching between and is it in any order? If the issue is happening with any TV show or movie you switch from and in any
    order, then you should contact customer support again and inform them of the further steps you did from this thread so that they can further investigate this issue with the movies and tv app.

    Something else you can try is to see if the same issue happens on a Windows 10 PC where the app is also available. The app is also available on Windows mobile phones.

    I can play movies I have bought pre preview update. Went to the Store, and downloading the movies & TV . I guess this is a different app than the app movies and TV?

    Thank you for taking the time to post on the forums today. I'd be happy to help.

    I don't recall the TV app being taken away from the Xbox 360. Can you not find it from the TV and Movies section on the dashboard where it says get Your TV App?
