Movies on USB no longer work?

Hello I've been watching movies I put on a usb drive without issue until I turned off my console & when I went back to finish it there was an auto update now I get an "Unplayable Content error code 69-80004005". I'm using the system media player & all the
files are MP4 format. They all worked fine yesterday & now none will work. The only thing that has changed was the auto update. Thanks for any help.

media player skipping

Hi I had a usb 2.0 flash drive worked great with movies I wanted more space so I bought a external hard drive it has usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 I plug it it my computer which is usb 2.0 put the movies on it then put it in my xbox one the movies skip but when I
play it on my computer through the external hard drive it works fine no skipping could this be because of putting movies usb 2.0 and then playing them on usb 3.0?

I played the same movies on a usb 2.0 flash drive with no skipping but with my usb 3.0 external hard drive it skips makes no sense

G'day Mouse! Let's take a look at those video files and see what's up.

Despite having the same file extension (.mp4), their audio and video profiles might be different. Take a look at the

supported formats and make sure your everything's up to scratch.

If everything looks alright there, try converting your videos to another supported format & see if it improves playback.

Download the Optional Media Update too, if you haven't already, to maximize the console's compatibility.

When i had my 360, I used to hate this about them. I used numerous USB stick and Countless different formats for movies to see what would work. I was able to use a 4gb USB stick to watch movies in the MP4 format. Anything else didn't work. But as far as
i know theres no patch or software that will let you transfer movies from a USB stick or external hard drive to the xbox internal hard drive. i suggest trying different USB devices as some external hard drives dont even register on the xbox. Also the format
of the movies you have on USB as anything in MKV wont work. You'll need to convert movies into MP4 or AVI

The Retro N8iv

After formatting my 32gb usb stick the long way by unchecking the quick format option. It played one movie and on the second one it froze and crashed. The usb stick works fine on 360, ps3 and ps4.
