movies not working

I purchased a Xbox One S and it works great on games. It will not, however play any movies - either dvd or blu ray. Are others having this issue? I spent over 2 hours on two occasions with support and still nothing. I took one console back and got another
one. It played one blu ray and then started showing the same error. Is this a blu ray app issue and when will it be fixed? Thanks.

Movies and TV not working.

Did you ever get this figured out? I have run into this issue as well. Everything was working fine for me about 2 weeks ago, and now when I try to play some of the movies I purchased it just gets stuck at 0:00:00 (no error code).

I talked with Microsoft support for like an hour.. went through all the steps. Luckily (or not) I have another xbox one where I was able to load up the movies no problem.. and I can even play them on my Windows 10 pc, which tells me it's my console (day
one version). Support basically told me that it's a hardware issue and that I have to send it in for repair. My only problem with this resolution is that I was out of town for the last two weeks... came home, and now my movies don't play.

So... yeah it's possible that over the last two weeks that maybe a power surge could have damaged my console or something, but seems like a software or permissions issue to me. I can play all my games, apps, even play the movie trailers... just not the full
movie. They even let me purchase a movie still (of course that will still work, right?), but I can't even play that one.

Movies and TV not working.

I cannot get any of my movies to play. I cannot move the cursor to the play button. I have uninstalled/installed the Movies and TV app, as well as Uninstall/Install my profile.

Any ideas?

 

Try un-installing and re-installing the bluray app again. You could also try a hard reset by holding the ower button on the froont of the console until it turns off then unplug the power brick from the console and outlet for a couple minutes then plug everything
in, turn back on and try the app again.

If the above solutions don't work work try doing a console reset by going to settings, system, console and updates and reset console. Your console will restart going through a quick set-up and you will sign back in again. rty the app again when your back
at the home screen

 

Thanks for our suggestions. I tried all of this and much, much more over 2 + hours with support and still no dice. My TV is a new Samsung UHD and is not the issue as it initially played one movie. It has to be faulty blu ray app that needs to be patched.
I have seen others comment on this without resolve. Is Microsoft doing anything to fix this?

 

I don't know. I'm not a Microsoft employee.

 

I was asking the question to anyone that might have an answer. Hopefully, a Microsoft employee can shed some light on the situation. Just want my new system to work as advertised.

Snoopy, look around on just this page alone. The XBOX One S is having a lot of problems playing Blu Ray (especially 4k titles). The Blu Ray app appears to be pretty much garbage (rated 2/5 stars).

 

Can you provide the steps support recommended to you thanks.

At the moment lets clear persistent storage settings - disc & Blu-ray - bl-ray - persistent storage - clear persistent storage.

 

As per a forum thread that I saw - I deleted the persistent storage three times in a row, followed by unchecking bd? -right above persistent storage - cant remember name, and then a 15 sec soft reset. Voila - working. Hopefully it holds out. Thanks for

It is still intermittent. Hopefully next patch takes care if it. Lovin the look of the games though - especially Tomb Raider.
