Movies and tv not playing on Xbox 360?

Rent the movie from https://www.microsoft.com/store/movies-and-tv then you will be able to play it on your Xbox 360.

No worries, both the 360 and the Xbox One can play movie discs.

The 360 is unable to play Blu Ray but does handle movie discs with no problems.

The Xbox One can play both regular and Blu Ray discs.

If your mother requires proof that movies can be played on the console you just need to show her the Movie and TV app on the console.

I don't recall the TV app being taken away from the Xbox 360. Can you not find it from the TV and Movies section on the dashboard where it says get Your TV App?

The xbox one isnt backwards compatible. The only content from your 360 that can be played would be movies and tv shows
