Movie quality question

I bought Robocop on XboxVideo on my console and watched it in HD. Good movie by the way, still prefer the original though. Now when I go to XboxVideo on my laptop it is only available to view in SD,
why is that?

Client being used: HP laptop running Fedora 20 with FireFox 29

Audio Quality of Movies Downloaded from Xbox Video

Hey all,

I have a quick technical question about the audio quality of movies on the Xbox Video marketplace.

I recently downloaded a movie from Xbox Video on to my Windows 8 PC and checked the properties; Windows reported that the movie was encoded with 2-channel stereo audio at 192 kbp/s.

My question is this: If a movie downloaded via Xbox Video to my 360 is encoded with 2-channel audio, will the console convert it to 5.1 during playback (I have it hooked up to a Dolby 5.1 home theatre system)? Or is the video/audio quality of the movie dependent
on the type of device to which it was downloaded (i.e., do movies downloaded to a 360 have different properties than those downloaded to a PC)?

P.S. The movie in question is Iron Man 3 (a fairly new, big-budget release), so production age/quality shouldn't be a factor.

Movies change quality

When I watch movies through the app Movies and TV (purchased and rented). The quality constantly changes from HD to SD back to HD. My internet is high speed averaging 300 to 600 mbps. The connection hardwire to my Xbox One X. Other apps have no problems
steaming. I'm not sure what else to do.

I prefer the original as well! Unfortunately HD is not currently supported for this video on the web, so your purchase will only play in standard format on your computer. The video will play HD for Xbox 360 and Xbox One only.

Yes the 50g allows for extras but movies are typically 20-40g. Movies purchased, not streamed are under 10g. That means lower quality becomes it is compressed. I am also aware I will need a player, that is a no brainer. I am a bit of a stickler when it comes
to details, and if I can pay $20 for a digital compressed version or $20 for a disc based uncompressed version, I will take the higher quality version any day.

It seems no one can answer my question on the actual streaming or purchasable quality. No worries, got my movie, I am happy.

that's a pretty good question right there. I own 3(?) 4k uhd movies right now and I can say personally that the visual quality is superior to blu ray buy itself and the difference between it and the older dvd standard is glaringly obvious when you pop the
disc in. I refuse to buy the blu ray star wars movie until the 4k disc for that movie comes out.

It's just a rumor ! I think the next generation have a disk drive because the best 4K Quality for movie is from Blu-ray 4K disk. The digital 4K version of movie don't have the same quality.
