moved back to the uk from the usa and i cannot download some games

Hi

having moved back to the uk from the usa i cannot download some games (call of duty) even though my consoles have uk locations in them.

my main billing account has a uk address and i am able to download some games and my subscriptions are now uk.

sometimes when i go to purchase a game it still will give its price in dollars but not them all ?

Any ideas folks ?

Can't download this item...Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion

SO basically because it's a content download, they reserve the right to prevent you using previously purchased content, even though the EU always has compatability with games since the region is the same? IE if you buy a Sims disc from Germany and a expansion
in UK, they work together - unlike if you bought one from USA and one from UK.

Point being my xbox is from the UK - the game was bought in the UK so my licence is valid and microsoft cannot legally prevent me playing the game just because I moved!

Moving Location and Downloading games

My BF is moving from uk to usa and is wondering if he downloads a game on his UK account on his UK xbox then when he comes to USA can he log in to his uk account and redownload the game on to his new USA xbox console or is download games region coded like
retail games?

It sounds like your Xbox account itself might still be set to the US. This doesn't automatically update when you change your Billing info on the Xbox One or website, so you will need to do a
region migration.

Give that a shot, and let me know how it goes! We can dig further into it if that doesn't work for you.

Once you change regions you may have issues downloading items if you leave your gamertag set to the US so if you have anything you want to bring with you then be sure to download it first just in case.

Also, please see the link below on how to change the region of your gamertag along with issues that may prevent it.

does the region match your account some games are region locked meaning the regions of the console, the account, and physical location (usa, usa, usa, yes it will work, uk, usa, uk, no it will not). if all 3 of those are met and you are still having an
issue downloading I dunno what would be the issue.

Some games are IP locked and cannot be downloaded from outside of their respective countries. This would be the reason that you cannot download them. However, now that you've tried they are in your download history forever. If you head back to the UK
you'll be able to download them then.
