Move Xbox profile to new Microsoft account

Can I do all of this on my computer instead?

Unfortunately you can't delete gamer tags once associated with an account. What you would need to do is download that profile to your xbox. Then wait 30 days as per the security measure to protect your account. Then after the 30 day wait create a temp account.
you can do so by going to
signup.live.com. Then sign into the accidental account and go to your settings, then select account, go to the right two times and select account security. Next select change Microsoft account. Change your email for that account to the temp email. When
you follow through the steps you will be removing the email from the account as a way to sign in. Then sign into your current account and do the same steps except you will be changing the email to the email you wanted. As an added note you can't be have xbox.com
up on your computer or you may on accident create another xbox GT.

You'll first need to move the new Xbox profile onto another email address (Microsoft Account or MSA) in order to free up the MSA. This will allow you to move the old Xbox profile onto your new MSA.

you can only remove an xbox live account from a Microsoft account, by moving the profile to a different Microsoft account.

So the way to go is:

1 download the profile that is currently on the Microsoft Account to a Microsoft console

2 wait 30 days (after a profile is downloaded it can only be moved to a different MS account after 30 days (this is a security measure.

3 Create a new Microsoft account (be sure not to use if on a windows phone, windows 8 pc, xbox console, or xbox.com)

4 Move the profile on the MS account to that newly created MS account

5 Now you should be able to move your 'old' profile to that just freed up Microsoft Account.
