Regarding the xbox live profiles, you can't move them without receiving an error?

Are the profiles located on the hard drive or on a usb thumb drive?

If they are on the hard drive, what other stuff is on the hard drive and can you move that other stuff to a different storage device?

This is a bummer of a problem that can be a sign that your hard drive, or at least a portion of it, is failing. To see if this is the case, try the following. First download a game or demo to a USB drive and temporarily move your profile there. Remove the
hard drive and see if you can play the game on the USB drive without the problem. If your game plays normally, then your hard drive is the problem and you will need a new one soon.

You may be able to get some more time out of the hard drive by "moving" your game to a different portion of the drive. To do this, first delete the game that is malfunctioning. Pay attention to how big the game is as you delete it. Then go to the Xbox Marketplace
and download enough game demos to equal the size of the game you deleted. Once that space is filled, re-download your game and give it a go. This does not always work, but sometimes it can buy you a little time if you have old, damaged areas on the drive surface.

most if not all windows/xbox app games install to windowsapp folder, this is encrypted, if you took ownership or messed with the files then you have broken the encryption and will need to delete the folders and redownload the game. you can't just move windows games into different folders, you can move them to another drive via the apps and programs menu but they have to reside in the windows app folder that is created by the system.

O dont think you have to delete apps to move them . 🤔 you should be able to move them to a formatted hard drive . 👍
