Move Over EA. Here Comes "Bloodbowl"

At first I thought this game was going to be complete garbage.

"Warhammer: Battlemarch" was a mess on the console and the idea of throwing Warhammer characters at American Football just seemed a little stupid to me.

But I was curious and kept an eye on the game. Watched some Upload videos. Watched some Twitch play.

What they've ended up producing is a fantastic alternative to the "same old" stuff that they keep churning out of the EA Franchise Machine on an annual basis.

It's a little bit like "Battle Chess", "Madden", and "Football (Soccer) Manager" were attacked by "Lord Of The Rings" and when the dust cleared... they were all fused into one.

What you end up with is a turn based strategy game of "No-Rules American Football" where all you need to do to score is get that ball accross the line any way you can... and all you need to do to prevent a touchdown is smash people's faces in.

Just similar enough to American Football that you can grasp the game without being confused.

Different enough from the regular sports games that have come out with the same stuff year after year that it's new and fun to play.

Great mix of strategy, brutality and humour.

Also while there's a lot of depth to the game you won't feel like you're drowning. Something you can wade into gradually with a good level of depth.

You'll save money if you don't buy it from the Microsoft store.

Good game. Something new. Something fun. Worth checking out.

Activision does the same exact thing. Ironically, the 40 Infinity Ward employees that Activision screwed over are now with EA under the name Respawn Entertainment.. Maybe EA really is better to their employees.

I'm the same in a way, no-way am I paying for it though lol.

 

Talked to a friend about it as he played it yesterday - I laughed when he told me that opposing players were stoned to death.

 

Not a bad game but big difficulty spike after 2nd game in campaign. First 2 were easy wins then I tried like 5 times and still haven't won that first game against the elves

 

I too, love Warhammer be it 40k or Fantasy, I saw this game and thought you might be interested. Its coming to XBOX in the future, I think it looks pretty cool!

I must admit that this game does interest me, but I have a feeling that the price will drop quite quickly so I might hold on for a month or so. Definitely liking the description from Az!

It's nice to be playing something so different. The humour is great and I like the pacing.

Pvkas, you might want to start prioritising targets and maybe have your Ogre accidentally kill their thrower?

You can even bribe the ref to avoid anyone being sent off.
