  1. Move my gamer tag to my son's Microsoft Live account?

I initially setup our Xbox and Xbox Live account under my personal Microsoft Live account due to my son's young age, and my wanting to monitor what he was doing online. Well, the time has come for him to have his own Microsoft Live account and have control
over his Xbox Live account. I don't play any games on it. All of the points and achievements on the account are his own on the Xbox, and I don't want him to lose all of that, or his gamertag.

I no longer want the Xbox associated with my Microsoft Live account. I want it all moved to his account. How in the world do I do this? This shouldn't be that hard. This shouldn't have required me to come to these forums and ask this question. I should
just be able to log onto the Xbox and change the email account associated with it. Why on earth have you made this simple task so incredibly difficult?

I'm really not interested in creating an account alias, because my son has no business being able to access my Microsoft Live account. I'm not looking to change the email address that I use to log into my Microsoft Live account. I am only interested in
transferring his gametag to his own Microsoft Live account.

What can we do to fix this?

PS... We also have an XBox 360, as I've seen mentioned that this was something you were supposedly able to easily do on that console. If that is the case, I can do this on the Xbox 360 if you have instructions on how to do so.

    :)

Move my gamer tag to my son's Microsoft Live account?

I have no desire to close my account. It is a business account. Closing my account wasn't on my list of possibilities I posted.

So I tried to create an alias so his email address could be used to log in to play his games on his new computer and such. However, when we setup his new computer we were FORCED to create a new Microsoft Live account for him, and we used his one and only
email address for that. Now when I try and setup up an email Alias so he can log into Minecraft on his own computer logged in as himself, I am told that email is already taken.

Seriously? This is why I usually use a Mac.

I was on the phone with Microsoft Support and was disconnected when I was put on hold. I am not in any way, shape, or form convinced that the person I was talking to will ever call me back to finish up the support call. This was after a 254 minute wait
    for a call back...

Move my gamer tag to my son's Microsoft Live account?

    Hi there,

Regrettably, there is no way to transfer your son's account and game licenses to another email address. He will have to create his own email account and register a new Gamertag. Xbox Gamertags are permanently stored on Microsoft's servers and will only be
removed after several years of inactivity and if you choose to permanently close your account.

    Taken from
    this Support article
    :

"Closing a Microsoft account means you won’t be able to use it to sign in to the Microsoft products and services you’ve been using. It also deletes all the services associated with it, including your:

    • saved OneDrive files
    • Xbox Live data and GamerTag
    • Skype ID and contacts
    • NuGet.org account
    • Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, and MSN email accounts

You can't delete just one of these services and keep the others.

So, before you close your account, take some time to tie up loose ends, cancel subscriptions, and make sure you don’t leave anything important behind—like files, money from gift cards, or emails. And don't
forget to consider less common services where you use your account. For example, use your remaining Online Commercial Support benefit and for developers, transfer any packages you saved on NuGet.org.

Before deleting your account, you may also want to review these articles: Close your

    Hope this helps,
