move gamertag to different Microsoft account?!?!

I can't believe how [Mod Removed] difficult this is to do. The steps that Microsoft has looks NOTHING like what is on my Xbox One. I'm good with computers but this Xbox One is a pain in the
[Mod Removed] to navigate. THERE IS NO SETTINGS BUTTON ANYMORE!! I have to say "go to settings" to even open them up. THERE USED TO BE SETTINGS BUTTON.

Anyway I have *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** linked to my gamertag but I want *** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. *** linked instead. Simple right? I looked everywhere on my console and can't find how I change this.

Am I just forever stuck with this Microsoft account login? Why aren't there updated steps on their website?

How do I delete the gamertag Microsoft have given me?

Hi there,

the only way to achieve that is to move that 'generated' Gamertag to a different Microsoft Account.

In steps:

1. download that 'generated' Gamertag to the xbox console

2. wait 30 days (A profile can only be moved to a different Microsoft account when it has been for 30 days on a console)

3. move the 'generated' Gamertag to a different Microsoft account

4. move your gamerprofile to the just freed up Microsoft Account

You can move the gamertag to a different Microsoft account.

Unfortunately there is not an option on the Xbox One to move a gamertag from one Microsoft account to another, however this is an option to do so on a Xbox 360. If you have one available you can check out this link and learn how to move it.

Otherwise you would need to contact official support and see if they can do anything to help you out with moving your gamertag to that other MSA

Sorry for the late reply. Yes after research I've found that moving to a different sign in is hopeless. LOL

I can't use my other account any way due to this:

it is still possible to do, but would be a pain.

you would have to sign into the account with the email that you "want" to use for your account at
Sign in to your Microsoft account and then close it out, by clicking on security and password (you might get prompted to verify and email or phone number) then scrolling to the bottome and clicking close account, follow
those prompts. due to the email that you want to use is an outlook, which is Microsoft controlled, you will then need to close all that out and sign into your email. it takes 60 days to completely close the Microsoft account attached to that email. once it
has closed, you can then try to use it to do the swap.

NOTE: If you have purchased anything under the gamertag that is associated with the outlook Microsoft account, you will loose it. there is no way to merge accounts to keep that stuff.

 

Moving your Gamertag to a new e-mail *with* your XBOX 360 is now impossible it seems... worse yet, following very specific directions from support (which included creating a new account and waiting 30 days ... for "security") proved utterly fruitless. Worse
yet, the instructions given for the situation does nothing more than "create an alias" of one account into another, rather than "Moving the account" as detailed here: support.xbox.com/.../error-code-80154013

When this failed to work for the second time, I contacted chat-based help and went through additional steps, at Microsoft's direction, which *ELIMINATED* my original @live.com address that I wanted to use for the Gamertag's new home! (From an older @msn.com
address which no longer works.)

Instructions for this had a 404 error for several days and were just replaced with *these*:

support.xbox.com/.../change-email-sign-in-for-microsoft-account

Now... the only "management" possible is to add/remove aliases. :-( This is *so* bad! And I lost the @live.com address that people use to contact me day to day... I can't describe how angry I am about my "support help" from Microsoft. This felt "intentional".
I was promised a call-back from the chat center supervisor and they *never* returned my call! I'm calling you out, Microsoft! :-(
