Move All and Copy All functions are broken

I have been trying to move a game file from my internal HDD to an External HDD, but the functionality seems to be broken. When I select either Move All or Copy All, the system immediately shows that the files are moved. This is false since the file is
over 50GB in size, the system shows that 0 space is used on the External HDD, and if the original is deleted from the Internal HDD (even when doing Move All a copy remains on the Internal HDD for some reason) the game is completely lost and must be reinstalled.

How can I get this fixed or is there a fix incoming soon for this? This type of non-transparency in the operating system is a Apple-ish kind of thing that I really dislike. Please help.

Duplicate external drives

It's not possible to copy via PC. But you can just plug both hard drives into a single console and copy them over that way.

Unfortunately I've yet to see a copy all function for all the games. However you have the copy all within each game (the game and all it's DLC)

change external hard drive

With the current dash update it as simple as plugging the 8Tb drive into the Xbox One and using the copy or move function found in Settings>Storage to move or copy from the 4Tb drive and then deleting content from that disc drive.

Hi

Can you please try a full console restart by pressing the Xbox Button on the controller to bring up the guide then select setting tab and restart the console. After the console has restarted please try again to see if you experience the same issue.

I restarted several times, and inserted and unplugged the External HDD several times. All with the same result. I even tried to format the drive using the format in the system menu, when the system actually recognized the External HDD (which sometimes
doesn't occur). I finally hooked the External HDD to my PC and formatted it for my PC and then plugged it back into the Xbox and formatted back to the Xbox format there, and it finally would transfer the files properly.

Although, I managed to get it to work, I have noticed that the file system management for the OS has never really been a smooth experience. Even before the new OS, my External drive would not be selectable from the My Games & Apps, but it would still list
games that I only had installed on the External HDD. I hope that there is a good QA team keeping an eye on these sorts of things. The number of install halt errors that I have had in the past are kinda alarming.

It's not a bug.

As terrible as it is, it is how it is meant to function. An awful design choice. Basically the 'WindowsApps' folders no matter what drive they're on can not be moved, copied or cloned. They're encrypted and moving them somehow breaks this encryption.

This is for all Windows Apps, not just GamePass. PC GamePass app is just a portal anyway, all games are installed via the Windows Store.

Well, telling the Xbox to automatically duplicate your savegames and profile to USB won't work. But you can manually copy certain savegames and other content to the USB Stick, but not all.

Your Gamertag can not be copied or duplicated. It can only be moved, which means it copies the Gamertag to the USB Stick and then deletes the Gamertag on the console.

Also, some Games disable the function to copy or move their savegames or certain content to other storage drives. So it is quite normal (unfortunately), that you can't copy everything for a backup.

And finally, there is no comfortable tool to batch copy your data. The Transfer Tool will only
move your stuff to another drive, deleting the originals, so you still only have one copy.

What you need to do is, play a game, and save your progress. After you finished playing, go to "My Xbox", then all the way to the right to the system settings, and then to the Memory options. There go to the harddisc, and find your savegame you want to back
up. Choose to copy it and select the USB drive as a target.

But as I said before, not all games allow copying or moving savegames.
