    Motorola/Netopia (Modems/Gateways): Restore Factory Defaults
    Login Information

    • Gateway: 192.168.1.254
    • Username: none (leave blank)
    • Password: Access code written on the side or bottom of the device


    Restore Factory Defaults

    Through firmware

    1. Plug directly into the device with an Ethernet cable from your computer.
    2. Login to the gateway by entering 192.168.1.254 into the address bar of a web browser.
    3. Enter the access code listed on the device.
    4. Select Diagnostics from the menu across the top.
    5. Select Resets from the submenu.
    6. Select “Reset Device” near the bottom of the page.


    Through Hardware

    1. Plug directly into the device with an Ethernet cable from your computer.
    2. Using a paperclip press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
    3. Wait for the device to reset.

    Through Hardware

    1. Plug the computer into a LAN port via an ethernet cable.
    2. Locate the reset button on the device.
    3. With paperclip/pen/toothpick hold down the reset button down for 30 seconds.
    4. Wait for lights to turn off then return to normal.

    • Login Password - Access code: Access code is unique to each modem and is printed on the side of the gateway

    1. Locate the reset hole on the back of the device.
    2. Using a toothpick or pen tip press and hold the reset button for aprox. 30 sec.
