More than one xbox shared with one gold subscription

Hi all

not the best with technology but worth an ask incase im doing something wrong or it cant be done, i brought my son an xbox one for when he stays with me and he has one at his mum’s when hes there. He uses my account on both xbox’s as it has the love gold subscription and also has his own account/profile for the xbox which doesnt. Is there a way of us linking the accounts/profiles so they both use the one live gold and can both play the same games at the same time so for instance i can play on my profile and he can play on his profile on the same game on different xbox’s or does he have to purchase the game as well as a seperate live gold account for his profile?

sorry if im completely being stupid just not a technology guy but it would be nice to ply with him on games while hes not with me.

You would need to set one of the consoles as your Home in order to share with him. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox. However, you can only have 1 console set as your Home at a time.

As long is there is a payed gold subscription on your Xbox One it is automatically shared among all other profiles on your Xbox One. I would also like to inform that trial codes do not stack on existing gold so if you have an active subscription and redeem
a trial, that code is then lost.

The person with the Xbox Live Gold subscription is the one who needs to set the main xbox as their ‘Home’ Xbox.

To be able to share games, downloadable content purchased, along with Xbox Live Gold sharing features, to anyone who sign in on your console, there has to be at least one account tied to a Gold subscription and the console has to be set as the designated
Home console

Since you are able to take advantage of the Gold sharing features on your oldest brother's Xbox One console, this would then mean that he has a Gold subscription and with his console set at Home.

According to your profile, it doesn't seem to be tied to Gold subscription.

It's best to have each user have their own account.

On an Xbox One, you only need one account with a Live subscription. The account that has the subscription can make a console it's home console so games and the Live subscription will be shared with all users on that console. More info can be found here:
