Yes Gh0stz, if you read my post properly you will see that I have listed some of the xbox updates that were not needed on the competition as they were already in place. This was not meant to be a comprehensive list of all of the updates, I was merely answering
your question about why xbox has more updates than the competition.

 

Deals and games with gold aren't updates,these are changes in Xbox policy.

And I wasn't making comparisons, simply answering Gh0stz question as to why xbox was having more updates than the other console that he mentioned.

 

So to completely ignore the Gh0stz, LLodyd and Tzar... Anyone have any opinions on how this will affect the servers for various games? Already have seen slight issues with BF4 but otherwise servers holding up.

 

Refer to page 5 - sales have been lower in the week of kinectless than the previous week. That won't put much strain on the servers.

etc etc the week of kinectless bundle release sees the lowest xbox one sales in usa for weeks and weeks. This shows 2 things:

(1) The kinectless bundle is NOT flying off shelves

(2) The lower sales won't be straining the servers

 

(3) and that once again, MS was listening to the wrong complaints.

 

I don't think they where listening to the wrong compaints it's just the early adpoters all ready bought a console so they missed that group.

I wouldn't excpect the sales to just spike theres not much going on in games right now it's the summer. I think you will see the sales reward for doing this in a few months with the big game releases and the holidays.

 

i've always felt that it is the games that will sell the console regardless of specs and features and what have you, but i've seen more than a few people on these forums say they'd buy a X1 the moment they removed the Kinect from the box(and i'm sure some
of them did), and with the outcry from the internet and social media was enough that MS paid attention and did what the masses asked for, but where are these people now?

but you could be correct bstn617, and we are just seeing low sales do to the "summer game drought", and things will pick up around Sept/Oct. but i'm just a pessimist and think that in the eyes of the internet, we can't have just good consoles all around,
one has to be the "prints money" console and the rest are "garbage/inferior/waste of money" consoles, and i think people just wanted to hate on the X1 and never had any intention of buying a X1 anytime soon.

 

Im sure your right most of the people flipping out on the forums probably still wont buy it. And just wanted to complain.

But removing the Kinect will in the very least lower the price so that this holiday season people will not use the price difference as a factor when choosing there console. The X1 might end up cheaper this holiday now that the playing field is more even.

 

I am glad the XBONE is selling, but they are missing out if they do not get the Kinect.
