    More Headset Problems :)


    Every time I join a party or a game and try to talk to people, they can hear me, but I don't hear jack coming from anyone else. Greeeat. Sometimes, if the Xbox decides it`s having a functional day, it`ll work for 20 minutes before it randomly becomes dysfunctional
    again. They can hear me, can`t hear them. When the mic`s unplugged I can hear everyone, but not when it`s plugged in. How useful! I`ve switched to wired connection, restarted the good ol`piece of junk, and even replaced my headset. The results? Inconclusive.
    I`ve heard the classic "update your controller" attempt before, but my Xbox didn't come with the cord. WOOHOO! So, now, I'm expected to go spend another dollar on Microsoft just to see if this maybe works when I've had 0 support and have tried near everything.
    Ya, good luck with that one.

    Played fallout 4 all day. No headset on, no problems. Put headset on. Problems.

    That's not good, first off. I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue. Second, have you tried testing your mic or headset by using the "test the headset" steps from the

    Xbox One Chat Headset Troubleshooting.

    I'm assuming this is an Xbox One Headset, If it doesn't pass the test that may warrant for a replacement. If it does pass, it may have a secondary cause.

    If that doesn't seem like the issue there is a very helpful support page for
    parties on the Xbox One    .

    Let me know if any of these fix your issue.

    Has anyone returned their headset or headset adapter to see if a new headset adapter fixed this issue?

    I am beginning to think that it might be a problem with the headset adapter and not the firmware update.

    This doesn't seem to be an epidemic but more of an isolated problem for certain customers.

    My son's mic has stopped working - was fine and then stopped and now it has a mute icon top right or bottom left depending on screen layout - why?!

    There are more possibilities. The hardware like the headset, the cables but also the port sharing of your router. Please check the ports and try also another headset to figure out the problem.
