    Monitors confirmed 1440p 120hz support


    After searching the internet pretty extensively I’ve found that there isn’t a lot of clear information on the subject. With the Series X around the corner I’m looking to get a monitor capable of that 1440p 120hz sweet spot.

    Most monitors in that range support 144, 165, and 240hz. If the monitor you’re looking at doesn’t have a 1440p 120hz mode (usually found in timing table in the owners manual) then you’ll most likely be stuck with 1080p 60hz no matter what.

    One monitor I’ve seen mentioned here is the chg70. Someone confirmed 1440p 120hz. Another monitor I’ve been looking at is the 27gl850. In the manual it has a 1440p 120hz mode listed.

    Does anyone else have a monitor confirmed capable of 1440p 120hz? I’m just looking for 1 or 2 more options but I’m sure the information would help other people scouring the internet like I was.

    Error on xb1x selecting 4k

    The Xbox One X supports 120hz only at 1440p and 1080p resolutions. It does not support 120hz at 4k. So unless your TV or monitor supports 1440p resolution (many don't), you will only get 1080p when selecting 120hz.

    Until you don't proof me this specific monitor (Xiaomi Mi Curved 34) enables 1440p@120hz with Xbox Series X, your comment is meaningless.

    Yeah, there are some monitors with 1440p@120hz support for Xbox series s/x, that simply doesn't mean that ANY 1440p+ monitor with 120hz+ (especially 144hz+) can do it. Period.

    I've tried everything, that (1440p@120hz) simply doesn't work with that monitor. I've already listed every step I've tried, I'm not gonna write it again.

    Please read previous comments before posting the same dried comments...

    Xbox Series X - No 120HZ option on any resolution.

    Good afternoon . Can you confirm if the HDMI ports on your monitor are HDMI 2.1? Some monitors and TVs will only support 120 Hz over a HDMI 2.1 connection.

    The monitor is HDMI 2.0, but that should still be capable of 1440p/120hz, the 1440p/144hz works when connected to my PC via HDMI 2.0, so I believe it is an Xbox issue. I am able to either use 1080p/120hz, or 1440p/60hz, but not 1440p/120hz.

    The monitor has native 1440p/144hz over both HDMI ports.

    I dug a bit deeper and found this page in the monitor manual which confirms the monitor supports the 1440p/120hz timing.

    2k with 120hz XBOX ONE X not working with HP X27i

    because that monitor supports 144hz but does not have 120hz as an option in the monitor edid for that resolution, pc can set manual resolutions, xbox cant and the monitor has to support or state it can do 120hz at 1440p in the edid for the xbox to use it.
