    Hi all,

I would like to know if there is a way to know if my XBOX ONE user is connected (logged in) to the console and, if so, what it is doing or what is the game it is playing to.

    thanks, bye

    marco

What are the reasons to monitor your account?

If you want to control the activity of a child using your account, please create a separate account for the child, and add that child account to your adult account's family. There you will get detailed reports about the account activity of the kid and even
set restrictions that the kid can't change.

Your Adult account can't be restricted that way.

If you suspect someone hacking into your account and signing in, you can check that activity on Sign in to your Microsoft account and if you see suspicious activity, immediately
change your account password and enable Two Step Verification with an Authenticator App on

    https://account.live.com/Proofs/Manage

For further advice on monitoring your account, you would have to provide more information on what you want to achieve with the monitoring.

Hi, you can, if you use a child account, see an activity report with the parent account.

    Hi Denis and thank you

I just created a new adult account and inserted my child one

I then activated the activity report so that it should send me a periodic email, but do you think I could also see that activities in real time on the web?

my meaning is to check, when I'm not at home, if my child is connected to the xbox and also, if possible, to check what game is active (and since how much time)

You could get a real time update on what your kid is doing by having your kid as a "friend" on Xbox Live, and then using the Xbox App on your Windows 10 PC or Smartphone or your profile on the Xbox website to see when your "friend" kid goes online and see
    what your kid is playing.

HOWEVER: if you restricted your child's account to not show what the kid is playing, the app and website will not show that activity.

Additionally, if the kid is smart enough, they can also set their account to "appear offline" and still play, without the app telling you so.

So currently the activity report is the only thing that gives you that information. All other "real time tracking" can be avoided by the person being tracked, and this will probably not change, due to privacy concerns for most users.

If you want to keep your kid from using the console when you're not around, you might try some physical solutions like for example the "kSafe", a container where you can put in
the console controller, and the lid has a timed lock. Only after the set time has passed, will the container unlock.

Hi Arminator, excellent suggestion the "FRIEND" one

to be a friend the request have to be done from xbox console?

form the smartphone I can see the activity also using an android smartphone or only a winphone?

No, but both you and your son need to "friend" each other. You can send a friend request from the Xbox.com website by going to Sign in to your Microsoft account YOUR KID'S GAMERTAG HERE

Or you can look for your kid's Gamertag in the Xbox App.

When you are on the profile, you can add it as a friend.

For your Android device, you can get the Xbox App from the Google Playstore or here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.xboxone.smartglass&hl=en_US

But again: Be aware that your kid can set his account to "appear offline", or even block your account, and in theory could play all the time, and you wouldn't be able to know it.

So there is no foolproof way for a real-time surveillance.

    excellent Arminator,

from XBOX app on windows 10 PC I added as a friend on my account and also on his account

I can see his activity in terms of screenshots taken and achievements unlocked, but it seems nothing else (am I wrong?): do you think it is possible to see live?

more, after having added each other as a friend, the app show me (on the same button) the wording "INVITE"

    what it means?

You won't be able to view his screen, if you mean that by real time activity. As soon as your son starts the console and goes online, the account will appear as being online on your Xbox App (or website) Friend-List as being online. And depending on the
privacy settings, the friend list will show what your kid is doing (For example "Forza Horizon 4 exploring the countryside" when he's driving around in Forza Horizon 4, or "Halo 5 Guardians Free For all" if he is in Halo 5 Multiplayer.

You can not actually see his screen. For that, your kid would actively have to stream his screen to Mixer or Twitch for example.

As for "Invite", depending on what you're doing on which device, you can "Invite" the account to participate in a chat party, where you can talk to each other either via text messages or voice communications, or if you're playing a game with multiplayer
functions, you can invite that profile to join your multiplayer game.

As for appearing offline or blocking accounts:

Your son can bring up your profile, and then choose to block, mute and report your profile. If your profile is blocked, you are unable to see his online status or connect to that account.

To appear offline, your son would open the guide, and go left to his own account, and then set that to appear offline in the menu there.

And before you ask: No, these two functions can't be disabled. So your kid can always "hide" from your real-time-control so to speak.

Only the emailed activity report can't be manipulated by your kid.

If you really require absolute control over what your kid is doing at home during your absence, then Xbox Live is not the correct tool for that. :-(

As for unwanted chat or contact:

You can set the online and privacy settings of your child's account to "Friends Only" or to "Block", so the kid can still play on the console, but will only be able to chat with known friends that are in his friend list and no one else, or he can't chat
    at all, if that helps.
