Monitor turns on and off while console is off

    Monitor turns on and off while console is off


    Okay so no problems with my xbox one s, works fine but when I turn it off it causes my monitor to keep going in and out of sleep showing the blue screen. And Ive tried putting my console on power saver mode with the long start up, but it still does this.
    I have to either unplug the hdmi or just turn my monitor off which i like to have on.

    HDMI to VGA Not Working

    Try the following: Turn off the Xbox 360 console. With the console off, hold the Y and RT buttons on a controller, then press the Guide button on the controller to turn on the console, WHILE STILL HOLDING the Y and RT buttons.

    Does the monitor now show an image?

    Flashing static screen

    I have Xbox One X and Samsung 1080p monitor and sometimes after playing for few hours when i turn monitor off then i see flashing static picture few times and after this xbox start working as usual. After this its happening almost every time when i turn
    monitor off then on. Also it happens if i turning xbox off then immediately turn on from instant on mode. Rebooting console solves problem but not completly. I've tried different hdmi cable but it doesn't fix this. Help me please i want to know if this console
    hardware problem or probably this is my old monitor.

    Thanks for your response. Here are the answers to your questions:

    When you turn off your Xbox, are you turning off your monitor too or putting it in a Sleep mode?

    Ans: Normally, to avoid the annoyance, I have to manually turn off the monitor. The monitor is supposed to go to sleep mode when inactive (without the need to turn off separately), but it would keep coming back on when the Xbox One S is turned off.



    Do you have your Xbox plugged into a surge protector or power strip that is shared with your monitor?

    Ans: Yes, everything is connected to a power strip.

    Have you tested a night where your Xbox is not plugged into the monitor to see if the issue is re-created but with the Xbox unplugged?

    Ans: Last night, I removed the HDMI input to the monitor from Xbox One S. This time, the monitor went to sleep after a while. So, it seems the problem indeed is with the console.

    That is probably one of your hdmi cables being unpluged
