    I've been using a relatively old monitor (still flat screen though) for a while now and it uses VGA, so I got an adapter that turns it to HDMI. I always has the screen resolution set to 1440 x 900 (on xbox, of course). Recently I got a new monitor that supports
    HDMI but I haven't gotten the cord for it yet so I'm still using the VGA-HDMI adapter. The new monitor's resolution is 1920 x 1080 but when I set my xbox to 1920 x 1080 the screen goes black and stays like that until it resets back to 1440 x 900. How can I
    fix this? Could it be the adapter somehow messing it up?

    Sorry if this is the wrong section. Let me know if there is anything I need to add.

    Monitor problems?

    VGA doesn't allow for high end resolution like HDMI nd new screens offer.. hence why VGA is obsolete.

    Low audio from XBox one

    This problem is with the sound from the X Box One to the monitor speakers (HDMI), replaced monitor and same problem.. Tried external speakers plugged into the monitor and no difference.

    I think it's a problem with your monitor, even if the image transmits on the TV, see if there is a problem with the monitor cable connection.

    Hello,

    The monitor I am using is a Samsung XL2370. I don't think its the cables because it works just fine when I hook it up to a LCD TV. I am unable to see/hear any of the menu items so I do no know how I would change the settings...? The circle around my xbox
    logo do not flash red, they flash green. A solid green ring is flashed every second I would say.

    Also, I am using HDMI cable.
