    Monitor problem with xbox series x


    Hello, is there anyone out there that maybe can help me a little. I just bought the series x, and looking forward to hook it up to my 1080p 120hz monitor. The problem is that I can't get variable refresh rate, I can go to manually sett it for 1080p and
    120 Hz, but for an example cod modern warfare is tearing when I have the system on 120hz. So to play that I need to put my xbox manually to 60 Hz. And if I want to play cold war that's support 120hz I need to go back to my settings and put the xbox in 120hz
    and then restart the xbox for it to work. I know that modern warfare doesn't support 120hz bot I have variable refresh rate on both in setting on the xbox and screen. It's frustrating, why will my xbox not only just find my monitor with 1080p and 120hz, but
    I have to "force it" in to 120hz with no variables refresh rate?? The monitor I have is a ASUS TUF GAMING Vg27vq. Is there anyone that can support me? Or give me a lead where to go? I'm thinking about buying a new monitor only because of this

    Does the series x support 1440p 144/155 refresh rate?

    The Xbox Series X will do 120Hz but no more, regardless of resolution or monitor.

    I would check to see if other Xbox Series X owners have confirmed to achieve 1440p120Hz on those monitors before purchasing.

    Maybe a google of "xbox series x 1440p 120hz ___________ " and insert the monitor model to see if people have posted about their monitor and Series X working.

    I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

    As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

    I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

    Ive had the same problems with my Xbox Series X, try restarting your tv or monitor.

    Xbox Series X doesn't support 1440p@120Hz with 1440p@144Hz monitor

    In that case I highly recommend you see the monitor/TV in action with the console. That way you can verify that the monitor does support 120Hz on the Series X.

    The Rtings website's reviews of Series X compatible monitors is a great way to start your search. These are professional TV/monitor reviewers, they test everything!
