    Monitor goes black (in the middle of a game)


    I'll be playing a game and all of a sudden, the monitor goes black. I have to turn the monitor off, then turn it back on again (quickly) to resume play.

    Connection: HDMI cable from xbox360 to monitor.

    Details: The monitor is also used with my computer, this is never an issue - so I think I can rule out a problem with the monitor. When I use the monitor with the computer - I switch HDMI, monitor to computer. I have used different HDMI
    cables, so I think I can rule out bad HDMI cables.

    Can the xbox be causing this? Has anyone else experienced this problem? It really makes on line play impossible. Good for opponents though. By the time I get an image back up on the monitor, I'm usually dead!

    Console Going to Black Screen When Quitting Games

    Same thing is happening to me. I'll go to check achievements in the middle of a game and the screen goes black....still have sound. Have to do a cold boot (losing my place in the game) and the picture comes back. Frustrating.

    VGA display not working on monitor... Intro screen shows than goes blank

    my tv broke so i have to use a monitor connected with a vga cable. when i turn on my xbox, the xbox 360 splash screen comes up, than after that the screen goes black for a couple of seconds, and the monitor says "No signal" and goes to sleep mode.

    I already reset the display settings on my xbox, that didn't do anything. any suggestions?

    Hi, it looks like the HDCP handshake between your xbox and monitor is being lost. Try going to settings/system/console settings/display on the console and disable display discovery.

    So I think I found the fix. HOWER LET ME BE VERY CLEAR, NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO DO THIS.

    Under the compatibility settings for the app I could reliably reproduce it there is an option to use legacy ICC color management.

    What this setting actually does I have no idea, but since one monitor is HDR and using it and the other monitor is not. There could be conflict in windows, but whatever.

    This isnt something that anyone should have to sleuth to figure out.

    Well before yesterday this only happened in DOTA2.

    I enabled auto HDR just out of curiosity since the even viewer keeps showing something about brightness and that made the problem so bad that it was crazy.

    I use HDR normally on the monitor and Windows, but not the auto feature.

    I changed cables. Now I dont know if its windows being stupid or nvidia but if you use HDMI and DP even though HDMI is the first port on the gpu the DP always stays no 1 even though that is the second monitor.

    So I switched to both DP and at least now the main monitor is no1.

    However since yesterday I noticed when opening photoshop the same black screen thing happened. I opened Topaz video AI and it also happened there a couple of times. Played other games for hours and have no problems. Ran systems stability tests with cinebench and futuremark. No stability problems.

    Im using the hotfix driver for Nvidia because of the micro stuttering. 14700k, 32gb ram, 4090. Nothing is overclocked. All my drivers are up to date.

    I have a way to replicate the problem with video AI. Is there a way I can upload a video or something?
