  1. Monitor display issues

I'm trying to connect my Xbox to an old monitor of mine which only has VGA input. I bought a HDMI to VGA converter and it seems to work fine with everything I try, except the monitor I bought it for. I also confirmed the monitor isn't at fault as I've connected
that to both my laptop and my 360 and it's been perfect. The issue only occurs with my X1.

The picture is displayed however there are vertical lines throughout the picture which are very distracting. No matter what I do with the monitor's settings they still remain. I did find that selecting the 50hz option in X1 settings temporarily fixes it,
however selecting yes to keep the option reverts the signal back to 60hz and the lines return. Is there any way to force a 50hz output from the X1?

    :)

    HDMI

It all varies depending on what TV/monitor you have, my monitor runs on 1920x1080 but yours may not be able to display an image of that size. You should go into the display discovery and allow the console to get all of its settings directly from the TV/monitor.

    Monitor display issues

Hello, how are you? My name is Mateus. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Since you have the pre-requirements to enable 120FPS I suggest you read the article below for possible solutions.

    https://www.howtogeek.com/700984/how-to-enable-...

    - If the solutions above do not solve the problem, I suggest you try the solution below.

In the display, Go to video fidelity & overscan settings then click on overrides then go to HDMI and click use manual settings. Then go back and put the resolution back to 1080p or 1440 and click yes. Now try activating 120 FPS again.

*Thank you in advance for contacting, I hope this can help you.

HDR washed out on Xbox One X and S on Philips HDR1000 monitor.

    Hey there tHe giafra sHoW,

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue with the display. If you have already connected a different console to the same monitor and you are still experiencing the same issue, then it is possible that the Monitor is the problem. I would advise contacting

    Philips Support
to see if they can provide troubleshooting for this issue.

I would advise attempting to connect to a different monitor as well to make sure that it is not experiencing the same display issue on different monitors.

    I hope this helps.

Xbox Series X and LG Class UltraGear 27GL850-B can't get 1440p with 120Hz - "This refresh rate isn't supported with your current resolution"

    Hi,

I have the same monitor. The reason why you can't go to 120Hz at 1440P is because the LG 27GL850 tops out at 100Hz over HDMI at 1440P. This is why you can only do 120Hz at 1080P on this display.

My reasons for owning this monitor a little different to yours, it's main use is for my gaming PC which is connected via Display Port. Only on DP can this monitor reach its full potential.

Unfortunately, this is common issue amongst most monitors and we are getting quite a few questions on here with the same issue. Most Monitors have most of their full features reserved for Display Port.

The picture quality at 1080P is still stunning on this display though.

LG Ultragear 27GL83A-B 27 Inch Monitor With XBOX Series S

    Hi

Absolutely! But the display should be able to do 120Hz, but only at 1080P as this is a limitation of FreeSync with HDMI for this display.

Make sure you enable VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) in the Xbox display settings as this will remove stuttering and screen tearing.

Just on a technical note, 1440P monitors are not 2K displays. A 2K display is 1080P, 1440P monitors are 2.5K

    Thanks for the response!

That's annoying. I've heard that some people were able to get this monitor to run at 1440p 120Hz by disabling Adaptive Sync in the monitor settings.

I disabled Freesync premium in the Game Adjust menu and then tried but it still didn't work for me.
