  1. Monitor compatibility for xbox 1440p 120hz

What is the monitors who works for xbox 1440p with 120hz without issue at bestbuy.

I see a lot of issues and complains about connecting a monitor with xbox... a lot of people cannot get the 1440p and 120hz unavailable even if the specs of the monitors do it. I heard that 2.0 cable should be a issue. Some people tell to disabled the freesync...
while other people don't have problem. In other words can i play 1440p with 120hz on monitor and if yes what are the models numbers.

    :)

    Xbox Series X doesn't support 1440p@120Hz with 1440p@144Hz monitor

Until you don't proof me this specific monitor (Xiaomi Mi Curved 34) enables 1440p@120hz with Xbox Series X, your comment is meaningless.

Yeah, there are some monitors with 1440p@120hz support for Xbox series s/x, that simply doesn't mean that ANY 1440p+ monitor with 120hz+ (especially 144hz+) can do it. Period.

I've tried everything, that (1440p@120hz) simply doesn't work with that monitor. I've already listed every step I've tried, I'm not gonna write it again.

Please read previous comments before posting the same dried comments...

    Xbox Series X. 1440p lies.

Without display 1.4 support there is no reason to target 1440p at 120hz. Only screens are able to do this have 4k 120hz with HDMI2.1.
    Hi,

Sorry you feel this way, but that is not true. There are compatibility issues with monitors and the Series X/S sure, but there are some monitors that can do 1440P 120Hz via HDMI 2.0 without issues.

    The Five listed here
    from Rtings.com can all support 120Hz @ 1440P over HDMI 2.0.

I have also seen on here that the Samsung G7 can also do 1440P @120Hz effortlessly.

Just because your monitor doesn't work doesn't Microsoft were lying.

Also there is a lot more to the Series X than just a fast SSD. It has a GPU at least twice as fast as the Xbox One X and a CPU 3x faster. The Series X also has Raytracing.

    Microsoft- 1440p 120Hz not working!?

I am able to display 1440p @ 60hz (and can select variavle refresh but no 120hz) and 4K can be selected if 24Hz is checked.

I am 100% sure the HDMI cord is 2.0 compatible at 18gbps.

The manual for the monitor claims HDMI 2.0 input accepts 120hz at 1440p.

i have messed around with settings, reset my xbox, and checked if monitor settings can be changed (they cant).

thank you for the quick response

    Xbox series X - 1440p 144hz monitor

    Hi,

Do you have problems with getting your Xbox to use your display's 1440P resolution and 120Hz on this monitor?

Your monitor has a note in the manual that says:

    * When HDMI Compatibility Mode is on, 2560 x 1440 @ 120/144Hz resolution is not supported.

I would assume you should be able to get 120Hz at 1440P with this monitor connected to a Series X. But, as you've probably seen, the Xbox One can be really picky when it comes to monitors.

Monitor interest has gone up considerably since Microsoft released support for both 120Hz and FreeSync. The problem is getting a monitor that will use these features correctly over HDMI.

Will Xbox series x/s have more monitors that run 1440p @ 120hz than current gen consoles?

I'd like to clarify, you don't need a hdmi 2.1 connection unless you want 4k @ 120hz which doesn't seem realistic though i heard r6 siege will support that. Hdmi 2.0 can support 1440p @ 120hz and 2.1 ports are compatible with 2.0 hdmi ports and cords.

Odd thing that these monitors claim to support 1440p @ 120hz through hdmi 2.0 but for some reason don't on the One X, though there's a few that do. I read it's something to do with an unusual refresh rate configuration on one x that most monitors don't support,
so maybe the new consoles will have better monitor support since they're built with 120hz in mind, i guess I'll find out soon enough.

I'm just gonna buy a pixio 278 monitor that claims to be compatible with xbox (it's the one i wanted) and see how it is on next gen, if it doesn't support 1440p @ 120hz I'll return it and buy a px 329 which i know works on one x at 1440p @ 120, just no hdr
support, higher response, and apparently not that bright. Both affordable 2k 120hz monitors though. I'll update this if the px278 works on next gen or not aswell.

    I appreciate all answers though.
