Money added to wrong account and redeemed gift card isnt refundable?

I redeemed a gift card on the parent account that I thought my son could access from his child account (which he cant), then I put money into the wrong child account he uses. I contacted Support only to be told that both these are non refundable and non
transferable. Really? There's no option available for people like me who do this?
Microsoft, a multi billion dollar company is going to be dicks over 50 bucks??? 25 in an account we wont use to buy anything online for. And 25 in an account he doesnt use anymore. It was suggested by Armando (supervisor) that he could use the money to
buy his next gold card. But...how can this be done if he cant combine the two account amounts as they're non transferable???

Guess Microsoft is in the habit of accepting money in exchange for nothing. We're not rich. 50 bucks is a chunk of coin. All I tried to do was gift my son 25 bucks for use in his gaming.

Hi, I'm trying to buy a game using the gift cards that I've redeemed, but I only see my credit card option under payment. How to I purchase games with the money (redeemed from gift cards) in my microsoft account?

So I have been gifted a 5 pound gift card by Xbox (thanks) anyways I have never used an Xbox gift card before so here's the problem, I redeemed it but I wanted to buy something but I don't know if I am using my gift card money it is only telling me to proceed
to paying from my account, nothing mentioned I am using the gift card money, can you tell me what to do or am I doing something wrong.

On Xbox One it is possible to gift content to another player. When you select a game or DLC in the store you should see the option to buy the content as a gift that will then send a 25 digit code to your son to redeem.

Refunds are given to the payment method that was used, so if it was a gift card, then the refund goes back to the Microsoft account the card was redeemed on. If it was a credit/debit card, then the money goes back on the card.

Method 1: Redeem gift card in store

The easiest way to add money from a gift card to your account is to redeem it in-store. To do this, go to a store that sells gift cards and present the card to the cashier. The cashier will give you a receipt with a redemption code.

What type of gift card was it? (Currency/Subscription)

Unfortunately, if the gift card is for Microsoft Currency you will not be able to transfer or refund. The funds will get attached to the account it was redeemed on.

There is no way to get a refund, as it was a gift card, and there is no way to transfer it to another account. Is this gift card just money, or virtual currency for a game? If it is just money, then you can still purchase games with it, by purchasing the game as a gift for the account you want the game on. If it is virtual currency for a game, then there is nothing that can be done to move it to another account, so your only option would be to use it on the account you redeemed it on.
