My other son was on xbox and was scammed out of our username and password and the person then went into our account and made a purchase and changed my son's gamertag as well as our microsoft username and email etc so we can't even log into microsoft to
recover anything.I have cancelled my credit card and disputed the charge with my bank. Because of covid- it does not appear that I can talk to customer service. SO my assumption is that we probably have lost whatever credits my son had as well as the next
2 months prepaid for his xbox live...so is his only option to create a new account and start all over?

Sorry for your issue always password your account and never share your details with anyone make sure youve cancelled and ask for new bank card .

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have questions on recovering an account. We are sorry for all the inconvenience you have due to the issue. We do recommend to keep trying to get ahold of support. There are options for you even though
it has been completely taken over. Here isa guide for requesting a call.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----click on Contact us
Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next

Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.
