Mom question about memory unit installed on Xbox 360

My older son, who is away in the Marine Corps, installed an extra memory unit to my 9 y/o son's Xbox 360. Was it put inside? Please don't laugh at me, I know nothing of this

I am selling the 360 to get Xbox One for his 10th bday. I don't want to be stupid if ppl ask me about the memory unit... Help

Destiny Without HDD?

Simple question do you NEED a HDD disk to play destiny, or can you play it on an xbox 360 with a 4gig internal memory(not HDD) unite and a 32gigs of external memory?

Thanks for the information. How about the Memory Unit A and the Memory Unit B slots? What size memory card do you suggest for an 11 yr old's xbox 360 system?

It depends on the type of 360 it is. If it's an older "fat" model like this,
it would be on top. If it's a newer model like this, then it would have been inserted
via a slot on the bottom.

When the memory units fail in those Xbox 360 consoles, you can't delete or install anything and you'll often get prompted to install a system update which won't install either.

If you can try and exchange the 360 with gamestop that would be best and get a 360 without a memory unit. The systems without a memory unit will require an internal hard drive.

Often in the older 360 consoles with the built in memory unit, this issue will occur.

When the memory unit fails, the Xbox sees that there's an update available since it can't see the update that was on the storage device. When the Xbox tries to download/install the update, the update can't install because of the failed storage device.

Since Spring, 2010, the 360 has supported USB flash drives. The drive must be parttioned/formatted as FAT32 (the 360 can do this for you). The 360 then installs a USB Memory Unit on the flash drive.

What exactly do you need "memory" for? Keep in mind that not all DLC works with USB Memory Units. Some require a HDD.
