Modern Warfare II locking Xbox Series X? Known issue or problem from an already repaired...

So, to cut a long story short, my wife’s brand new Xbox Series X stopped working after 45 days. The power would only come on for 7 seconds and turned back off without even getting to the splash screen.

After some issues getting a repair order accepted it was sent off for repair to Frankfurt and was returned to us yesterday with a note saying it had been returned to factory settings but no indication of what the issue was.

She mostly plays Call Of Duty so we left it on over night downloading the massive download file for Modern Warfare II and she started playing again today.

So far today it has crashed on her 4 times.

The first time the game just completely froze up, her party chat stopped working and the only way we could get it to turn off was by holding the power button down to do a hard reset.

The second time it crashed it just sent her back to the desktop (which I know happens on occasion with many games) but the third and fourth time was the same as the first, requiring hard resets both times.

The first, second and fourth times it crashed was mid game (she was playing DMZ) but the third time was when she was trying to change the settings to turn off texture streaming (as advised in one of the articles about Modern Warfare II crashing) so it wasn’t even being “processor heavy” at that point.

I’m no expert but to me, there seems to be an issue with the console rather than the game, as I haven’t had any issues with MWII crashing like that and she didn’t have any issues when she played it on my Series X either (be it for only a few hours).

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing the issue? I have messaged Xbox Support (via Twitter) and am awaiting a response but I really don’t want to go through the hassle of sending it off for repair again.

In addition, because I pay for Xbox Ultimate and she plays the game through the game sharing function I have now used up three of my five home Xbox swaps (my account). Once on hers when we both got our new Series X back in September, then once to switch it back to my Xbox One X so she could play MWII on that whilst it was off for repair and once more this morning to put it back on the “repaired” series X. So if I send it off again and get another replacement I’m likely to use up all the rest of my swaps and then if it still goes wrong she won’t be able to play it at all without me signing her up to Xbox Game Pass and buying the game again, which I really don’t want to have to do!

Her console is plugged in via an Ethernet cable, I play mine via Wireless although I’m not sure that makes any difference.

I’m fed up with this now, I wish I’d never bought the console so any help would be appreciated.
