Modern Warfare broke my party chat.

My Xbox One X system has been working fine for over a year. Never had issues connecting to parties, NAT always open, good connection, no matchmaking issues, etc.

The moment my Modern Warfare game download finished I was disconnected from the xbox live party, and I have not been able to connect to any parties since. I didnt even start/load the game.

My NAT type is "unavailable" and I'm getting "Cant get Teredo IP address error when I check multiplayer connection.

I have hard reset my xbox, left my entire set up unplugged without power overnight, uninstalled the game, factory reset my xbox, factory reset my gateway, verified all necessary ports are open, verified all other network settings are setup to allow open
NAT (as they always have been) spun around in a circle 3 times, done the hokey pokey and I still cant connect to a party.

I have no problems connecting to online multiplayer games, and have been able to use the xbox app on my phone to join parties in order to communicate with friends.

If anybody else is having or has had this problem I would greatly appreciate some tips on how to get this fixed.

I have been having the EXACT same issues. My happen after the game crashed about 10 times. Now im in the same boat. I have done all of this to and no success. Some changes helped at first but then every time i would turn off my xbox and turn it back on
would have the same NAT/teredo issue. I was about to call microsoft because i havent been able to find anyone with this same issue and im glad you have posted this. Im hoping to hear a solution. I will also try the option that is posted up above to. But my
xbox has never had any issues the whole time until this. And i keep having hope my xbox didnt get scrambled.

Go to Settings > Network Settings > Advanced settings > Alternate port selection > Manual, and chose another random port. if it comes back unavailable just try and find a port that is either open or moderate. If it moderate try running a Nat test and hopefully
that turns it to open. And try again if that doesn't work try the next steps.

Also try to change the Dns settings to do this

GO TO
1. Network Settings
2. Advanced Settings
3. DNS Settings
4. Select Manual
5. Change Primary DNS address to 8.8.8.8
6. Change Secondary DNS address to 8.8.4.4
7. Now go back and it will say "It's all good, Your console is connected to the internet"
And for me my NAT went immediately to OPEN give it a try hope this helps!

Also try to hard restart the xbox one this will clear any cache as well.

To do this hold the power button on the xbox for 10 seconds till it shuts down remove the wire wait another 10 secs and turn it back on and try again.
If that doesn't fix it try resetting your mac address go to
Settings>Network>Advanced>AlternateMAC>Clear restart your xbox and try again

I have had the same issue with no Teredo IP address being the issue, tried using bt helplines etc to get it sorted out and is still mangled. Confuse any normal folk with internet lingo that i don't understand as well.

Hoping that Activision will sort all the issues to do with party chat and party connectivity with an update that resolves everything

THANK YOU! I can join parties for the first time in like a week!

I did all of the above starting with changing DNS first, then selecting a random port, finally clearing the alternate MAC and restarting.

I do want to note that it did not work right away. After the console turned back on my nat type was still unavailable. From that point i just changed the alternate port until i found one that opened the NAT. Once the NAT was finally open, i was able to
join parties again without even another restart.

Also, regarding Modern Warfare constantly crashing, i was able to play a full night without a single crash.

I selected the game, pressed start “three lines”, went down to manage game, went down to saved data, selected “Reserved space (1GB), pressed A and cleared reserved space.

Havent had an issue with party or game crashes since.
