Its an xbox series x and call of duty modern warefare 2 2022.

EDIT: I see someone else posted so I removed what they already covered to try and clean this up. That said follow their steps first, they nailed it. If your still having the problem, or realize it was a temporary fix (unlikely) I want you understand this problem is very sounds very familiar to me, so feel free to PM if this post winds up closed and you get the problem recurring or with additional games. Thats not a guarantee I can help, but I will try. I been down a rabit hole on this. Anyway by now you followed his steps, if not do so before even looking at mine. Anyway back to my original post:

Everything else works perfect? Other call of duty games?

Go to your settings> network> Test NAT type. You want it to say "Open" rather than "Moderate or strict"

If it's not open, getting it open is a good start. There are plenty of good port forwarding

Another thing that could possibly fix it is deleting and redownloading the game.

If that doesn't work can you humor me and see if online works for any back compatible games? That would be scary familiar to me if it didnt...

This will sound weird but if you have the Arris TG862 (all in one modem router box) I am going to scream.

And if it makes you feel better, I've been in that exact situation with black ops 3 back when it was new (plus a couple more games that wouldn't connect, and no back compatible games worked)

In the same breath I don't want to spew a bunch of non-sense on here right off the bat so we will take it one step at a time.

EDIT: 2 If your lucky everything I said will just be non-sense. But this can potentialy be a networking issue It is possible, it has happened to me before.
