moderator help with name change

A few years ago, I had a forced gamer tag change. I get it now was against the code of conduct. It is telling me that I need to pay $9.99 to change the name. I don't want to pay for a name change. I wanted a new name, so I let my subscription lapse and
did not renew with the hopes I can create a new (and by the rules) gamer tag. The name would be for me and my son, and is only initials, nothing against that could possibly be against the codes of conduct. How do I do this? Or can someone change it? and
I can renew on this email?

well like I said an alternative name isn't an option for me... I've also trademarked this name... I really need that name... I need help from an xbox moderator to check if it is taken somewhere else or not

Messages will expire after 30 days, but like Juan Van said, block communication from the user, and submit a review for avoiding the player and you should be good to go! This article will help you out if you need some more help

If you receive a forced name change you are given a random gamertag for free.Any other changes must be paid for as per the ToU/CoC you agreed to.

Your only options are to pay for the name change,keep the gamertag you have or start a new account with a different gamertag.

It's not possible to change the Gamertag for free as Daft Badger mentioned, if it was force changed due to violations of the Terms of Service/ Code of Conduct. Previously there was an option, but this was prone to abuse so it's no longer allowed. For more

Um, the change wouldn't be free now would it if you bought points to change it, would it now? Also, posting here won't help with having a name change since the Enforcement Team doesn't read these forums at all. It's mostly read by normal users and occasional
moderators who DON'T HAVE THE POWER to issue a name change.

I would just tell your friends to file a complaint on your gamertag for it being inappropriate and if the XBLPET finds it offensive, you'll get the name change
