    Moderate NAT


    Help....

    I'm trying to get an open NAT setting when playing COD. I've tried port forwarding, putting my router in dmz mode ( BT home hub 3) and I've followed the advice that Microsoft give all to no avail. My multiplayer test gives me an open Nat but on any COD game
    it's moderate.

    Any ideas would be massively appreciated

    does ethernet xbox one download faster?

    and I were actually talking about this the other day.

    In both of our situations, our NAT is moderate via wifi, but open via ethernet cable.

    Sort of on topic: Will ethernet open up the NAT? Just changed routers and my NAT is now moderate vs. open before.

    Moderate NAT

    It's a known issue,even though it will say your NAT is moderate in game your NAT is actually open.

    There's nothing you can do on your end,it's the game just displaying the wrong imformation

    ^ Yep ...

    It done it on the COD before aswell, told me I was Moderate, when testing from the console it said Open.

    A few of my friends reported it yesterday aswell.

    Just ignore it.

    You connection to xboxlive can be open NAT but that does not mean your connection to COD will be open, you need to open ports 3074-3075 for COD. It's very easy on by home hub to create a port rule then assign it to a specific device.

    Also happening on Ps4.

    Both my 360 and ps3 have been open for years.

    Now I can't get off moderate .

    Must be a next gen thing,

    I seem to be finding games and playing ok tho

    The Nat issue is on Microsoft's end. I've been showing "strict" for the last several days and it's never been an issue before.

    Depending on your router/firewall port forwarding is easy to set up in most cases but the reason your not finding lots of information on how to do it is that we don't normally have to anymore. I'm a PC gamer and it used to be a common occurrence having to open
    ports for multiplayer but with modern routers I don't think I've had to do it in probably 7 or 8 years.

    It's just another one of those things we are waiting for Microsoft to fix.

    Try to test your connection on the Xbox, most times when my NAT would go to moderate I would test my connection and it would open it up. If that doesn't work it will be a problem with your modem. You can google solutions on how to fix it.
