  1. Moderate NAT - Both XBOX 360 & XBOX ONE Connected to Same Network...

    ISP Provider: Verizon FIOS

    Router: Actiontec MI424WR

Summary: Can't manage to get an "OPEN" NAT on both my XBOX ONE and my XBOX 360.

    Description:

    1) Both consoles are connected to the same Router and the same Verizon Fios network.

    2) I've gone through the steps of opening the appropriate ports. HOWEVER, the router does not allow me to open Ports for both consoles as you can only have a port open for one specific IP Address.

    3) Here's what I've tried. I tried PORT FORWARDING for one console and then had the second console's IP address on DMZ. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work.

    4) Long story short, it appears that I can only manage to get one console with an "OPEN NAT" at a time. In order to make the other console have an Open Nat, I have to take 20 min to switch the router settings which is ridiculously impractical and doesn't
    work 100% of the time.

I'm sure someone out there has both an XBOX ONE and an XBOX 360 connected to the same network and has both working properly (both with Open Nat). Can anyone provide me some insight on what I can do?

    I'd REALLY appreciate it.

    :)

Moderate NAT - Both XBOX ONE & XBOX 360 Connected to Same Network (HELP!)

As you noted, a port can only be forwarded to one IP. When you manually forward ports to Xbox A, those ports are no longer available to be forwarded to Xbox B. Placing Xbox B in the DMZ will not help because doing so essentially just forwards all available
ports to Xbox B, and the needed ports are no longer available because you forwarded them to Xbox A. The only way to get open NAT on both at the same time is to use UPnP on a good router that has a working UPnP implementation (many home routers don't). To
try it, enable UPnP on your routrr and remove all Xbox-related port forwards and DMZ.

It possable. But I think you need a better router. My care give moldem router combo is putty good leting to be connected good. So a better router would be firth thing to tried. Unless some network export come in this topic and says about making open nat
on both on the one you have now.

    Losing connection while in game.

    Hi,

It sounds very likely to be a limitation of the router itself.

Most routers will allow two Xboxes (or an Xbox and Games For Windows PC) to connect at the same time, one with an Open NAT the other with moderate or strict

Some routers will allow two Xboxes (or an Xbox and Games For Windows PC) to connect at the same time, both with an Open NAT

A few routers (I find these are usually Belkin) sometimes boot multiple Xboxes users from the network when they are used at the same time (this sounds like you)

How to fix Strict Nat Types

The best way that I have found to open your NAT type and keep it open is to do the following:

    1. Find out all of the ports that you want to have opened. This would be:

    •TCP: 53, 80, 3074.

    •UDP: 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500

and if using video connect: 1863.

    2. Find out what IP address your xbox 360 has, and write that down

    3. Find out what address your xbox one has, and write that down.

    4. DO THE FOLLOWING for BOTH Systems:

    A. Open the ports needed for Xbox 360 and Xbox One - Use the IP address for that machine (ex: if it is 192.168.0.5 for xbox one and 192.168.0.6 for the 360, simply make entries for each port you need for each machine. This will mean that you have entries
for the 192.168.0.5 AND 192.168.0.6. Save these changes when complete, and your router should now be able to open the needed ports for you.

(If your xbox is ON at this point, simply reset it, (power off, and restart it) after you make these port changes, as the xbox needs to restart to be able to see that there was a change, because you opened ports, and Xbox one should see this when it is done)

    B. Go to Settings>All Settings>Network and take a look at the NAT Status: If Open, you are all set, if NOT:

    C. Select "Test Multiplayer Connection: It will say "its all good" but don't stop there - press BOTH TRIGGERS and BOTH BUMPERS at the same time, and look for something that says "Your Network is behind a Cone Nat" If it does, you should be all set. If
NOT, then you would see something like "Your Network is behind a port-restricted Nat"

    D. If it says that "Your Network is behind a port-restricted Nat" you may simply have to just keep repeating Step "C" Testing the Multiplayer Connection, until you can get it to be "Your Network is behind a Cone Nat"

    E. It should be noted that you CAN open the same ports for Xbox 360 AND Xbox One at the SAME time, however, if you do, you will have to sign out of one of the Xboxes and turn it off when done using it - you CANNOT be logged into 2 Xboxes with the same profile
at the SAME time, or this can and probably will cause your nat to be Moderate or Strict.

My Xbox series X keeps disconnecting from internet and Xbox live for a few a couple seconds before reconnecting. I don’t know what to do?

Thanks for sharing further details, NCISDUDE12.

Please provide us a screenshot for both console's Network Status. To check, please follow the steps:

    • Kindly go to Xbox Console's Settings.
    • Select Network and Network Settings.
    • Look for NAT Type.
    • Please reply with a screenshot or picture of the Xbox Network.

For troubleshooting, please refer to the support articles here:

Troubleshoot NAT errors and multiplayer game issues | Xbox Support

(The later part of this support article is for Xbox Console troubleshooting but the definition of the NAT Type can be found on this topic.)

(This has both Xbox Console and PC troubleshooting; you may skip the Console part.)

Tip: You must have a NAT Type of Open or Moderate (making sure one of your friends is Open NAT) and have no issues with network.

We look forward to your reply.
