    Modem crash, with every xbox live service issue


    Every single time there is a live service issue, todays being the COD Black Ops 2 multiplayer issue. Xbox live crashes my internet connection. Every time there is an issue it no matter what the problem is, live crashes my internet. I have the last gen
    of the white 360's. Is that the issue, because this is getting really old. Started about a year ago. NO there is nothing wrong with the modem(replaced twice) nothing wrong with the cable, the computer, the dsl service... it is PURELY a Live issue. FIX IT
    already, glad I pay for gold live service since the 360 came out, seriously contemplating going to the PSN...

    Please help if you know what is going on

    This happens to me every once in a while. I have good internet service but I'm using a wireless network. Every once in a while the signal gets weak and my connection gets weird. Hard rebooting the router, modem, and xbox solves this issue.

    Can I Access Hulu, etc., Without XBox LIVE Paid Service?

    Can I access free services like Hulu (not Hulu Plus) thru the XBox, without having to sign up for the XBox LIVE paid

    That article describes crashes or crashes to desktop, neither of which I'm experiencing. This is a loop where Xbox Live doesn't seem to let me log in, sends me back to MSFS which send me back to Xbox Live to log in. Nothing is crashing. I can confirm that all updates are installed via the MS Store, including all relevant Gaming Services updates. I'm not keen on stripping down everything on my PC - hardware, software and drivers every time I get an MSFS issue, which is what the article suggests. I may as well just have a dedicated MSFS PC with nothing else on it. It really shouldn't be this difficult. It seems every couple of weeks there's another issue.

    @Lenders, the 0x80a40002 is a DNS issue between your xbox, your modem and xbox live. My suggestion to you is to fully power off both devices (pull out power cords, leave modem disconnected for 30 seconds), then power each device up starting with modem, then
    the xbox once an internet connection has been established at the modem. You should then be able to establish a connection to live services.

    This is a common error and it's due to some Xbox Live services issues, I'm sure it's only temporary. If you keep seeing this error try rebooting your modem.

    Seems to be an issue with your Modem rejecting the Xbox Live service, mine does this too at times. The way I resolve it is, unplug the Modem, wait 10 seconds. Then plug it back in, wait till all the green lights are on, then restart your Xbox and try again.
