modding COD MW3 for XBOX 360

My son has found some modders playing COD MW3 - he contends that if we download mods and load them on our XBOX 360 we can't get banned because it's such an old game. I'm trying to explain to him "no such thing as a free lunch - if it sounds too good
to be true" but told him I would look into it. Is it against the rules to mod any game? Are there modding lobbies - or somewhere - that modding is allowed? Can we get banned from XBOX Live for modding MW3?

Microsoft has announced an Xbox 360 Limited Edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 console at the start of the Call of Duty XP event in Los Angeles on Friday.

Xbox 360, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have teamed up to create a “Call of Duty” collectible, just in time for the most epic “Call of Duty” experience yet.

The console will play unmistakable “Call of Duty” sounds when powering up and when the tray is opened presumably in a similar way to Microsoft’s recently announce Star Wars console that played sounds from the Sci-Fi movie.

What is likely to be a must have for “Call of Duty” fans includes a customised console with graphics from the game, along with two custom wireless controllers, a 320GB hard drive, a copy of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.”

Gamers will also get a one month Xbox LIVE Gold subscription is included, as well as exclusive avatar items that show your Xbox LIVE friends.

At 320GB, the console has the largest hard drive ever available for Xbox 360.

The console will launch on 8th November, 2011 in the UK exclusively with GAME and gamestation for £269.99, and you can pre-order it starting today.

In addition to the console, Microsoft will be releasing two limited edition accessories, both exclusive to GAME and gamestation in the UK.

The Xbox 360 Limited Edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Wireless Headset with Bluetooth for £44.99 and a the chance to buy just the Xbox 360 Limited Edition Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Wireless Controller either in addition to the console or if you

modding/hacking any game is not allowed and will result in a ban so i dont advise doing it

 

Doesn't matter how old the game is,if you are caught modding you will get banned.

If you find anyone modding then report them via your console & they will be investigated.

Not only is this not allowed, it would involve voiding your warranty, doing something illegal, and a console ban. It's your call though.

 

^^ Illegal? You're not going to get arrested for modding your console.

 

Do not mod, hack, cheat or anything. You can and will be suspended or banned.
