    MKV files on the new update not working.


    When I try playing an MKV file off of my ext hard drive, the Xbox One says "The item's file format may be unsupported, the file extension may be incorrect, or the file may be corrupted."

    Anyone have any clues as to why this is happening? The update claims MKV is supported.

    Media Player Not showing MKV files.

    I can see every other media format on my computer Media Server except MKV's.

    I thought the new update was going to allow MKV files to play?

    Media Player Not showing MKV files.

    I am having the same issue. MKV files are not appearing in the media player browser. All of the other files that I expect to be there are present except for the MKV files.

    Is this an issue with only certain encodings being displayed? Wouldn't that just result in playback issues?

    An official response would be great. I was really looking forward to the MKV streaming in the October update.

    i did the update , and used a usb stick that i know works and use all the time with vids on and nothing happens, went to settings and devices and it aint there...broken already ?

    MKV is not supported yet but will be by end of the year.

    Kevin try removing the stick then insert again.

    The September update as gone live to public so this is a support issue as well.

    Yep. Seems I'm a little behind the times this morning. Growling Yapper is correct. MKV will be added by the end of the year.
