    Hi All,

    Forgive my ignorance, but my wife just bought $60 gift cards that certainly appear to be for a 12 month XBOX Live Gold Subscription.

    Our intent was to buy gift cards for my nephews that they can spend whatever they want.

    Do the gift cards have to be spent on the Gold subscription, or can they be spent elsewhere?

    Can I get Gold with GameStop PowerUp Rewards or XboxRewards?

    gamestop sucks, they always have some loophole...I wish I can buy best buy gift cards with my gamestop gift card LOL

    If you haven't redeemed the card then take it back & see if you can get a refund.

    If you have redeemed the code then there's nothing you can do.

    You have never been able to use account currency to buy a xbox live subscription.

    You need either a credit/debit card.paypal account or an actual xbox live subscription card.

    Uh, you’re right. Sorry, I thought I need Xbox Live Gold, before I am redeeming xbox gift card and buying xbox 360 games. Sorry about that. Just normal membership, not gold. Sorry, my mistake. But thanks for information.

    What’s the difference between a regular XBox gift card and one that says XBox Live?

    "Xbox Live Gold" card is for buying the subscription for Xbox Live Gold, which your son will already have as he's able to play Fortnite online.

    Xbox and Xbox Live cards should be same, but to be sure just buy the Xbox Gift card. That will let him buy the V-bucks.
