Misspelt email, no access.

My friend accidentally misspelt his email and can't sign in on Xbox One. He can't reset the password because the email is not real. It's not a hotmail/outlook account, so it makes it even worse. If anyone could help, that would be amazing. Thanks!

Two gamertags assigned to one microsoft account

Hi,

In many cases this happens when the email address is spelt incorrectly. Try and log into the other Gamertag and double check the spelling for each letter so that you are sure that it is not misspelt the Email address.

If it is a case where you have misspelt it, type in the misspelt email and use the same password you would of used with the original email. Try on Xbox.com first to see if it is the same Gamertag, if so do a recovery but clear the system cache first.

Sadly you will need to try resetting password again at:

account.live.com/.../reset

If the email was fake and you entered random info, still do it. When you fill out the form and if you receive a negative answer from that form, you can call support at that moment. They will need some info from the console you are usually connected to and
also some info from the negative email you get to be able to escalate the case to a special department for review. Give it a try I heard of people that have been able to recover it like that

 

If you originally mispelt the email, just create that email address at the website.

For instance:

If your correct email is "*** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***" and you put in "*** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***" by accident, just go to outlook.com, create an account with the email "*** Die E-Mail-Adresse wurde aus Datenschutzgründen entfernt. ***", then you will have your account.

I understand its not a Outlook account, but that could be done with any email provider.

 

Actually, the email already exists just by creating the xbox live account when he first did it, that's why he needs to reset the password....

What email provider did your friend use to create the Xbox Live account? (You can find this out with the @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc)

When was the Xbox Live Account created?

If your friend has entered the email address incorrectly when signing into Xbox Live, then all they need to do is enter the correct email address when they sign into their account.
