Missing the new Xbox One Avatar App

I have the newest October update

OS version: 10.0.17763.2023 (rs5_release_xbox_dev_1810.181009-1510)

but the the new avatar app isn’t on my apps list. I’ve looked in the store to see if i can download it, and checked my Ready to Install tab, but it doesn’t show up anywhere.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix that I am missing?

20. Redo original, missing avatar content for next-gen (such as avatar background options) from the Xbox 360.

Changing my avatar in the Wimdows 8.1 Games app

I explored the Games app for Windows 8 but was unable to find an option to create and save a new Xbox LIVE avatar picture. I remember changing my Xbox LIVE avatar on the Xbox.com website in Windows 7, however when I click on the Avatar Editor section
of the website I am redirected to the Games app for Windows 8. Am I missing something? This is a fundamental feature that I believe should be added to the Games app for Windows 8 as soon as possible if it isn't already.

have you tried doing a power cycle if not please try that and see if it fixes your issue.

 

Yeah, I power cycled it a couple of times, no change.

 

there may be a bug stopping you from getting it if this is the case please go to xbox customer support and they should be able to help you more

 

Ok, so there is a workaround, if anyone else runs into this.

Go to your profile and click personalize. There should be an option to create avatar, and that will take you to the landing page in the Xbox store to download the new Avatar app.

Like i said earlier, I did a search in the store for “avatar”, and only the classic Avatar app showed up, so for the moment, it looks like this is the way to actually find it in the store.

Hi, yes he has done a full power cycle, as stated in earlier posts. That is the correct way to describe what you refer to as 'erase cache' Restart or Power Cycle Xbox One Console
