Missing inputs with Elite controller (Halo 5 specifically)

Here are some links to where I posted this to reddit and Halo Waypoint to see if others were seeing the same problem. Any suggestions for troubleshooting tips would be appreciated. I can try a different controller but I'm afraid I won't be able to reproduce
the issue quite the same.

H5 with Elite Controller missing inputs? : halo

Here is what is posted in those forums:

TL;DR - Me and two of my friends have noticed that during complex moves in Halo 5 with the XB1 Elite controller, occasionally it seems to ignore inputs or have tremendous lag. Seems to happen most often after swapping a weapon. Has anyone else
seen this?

Full explanation - I've noticed on several occasions when in a heated battle, and doing complex movements (like a jump slide thrust, then swap weapons, while turning), sometimes controller inputs don't seem to take properly, if at all. For me
this seems to happen most often with right trigger (fire weapon for me), but I have noticed it with melee and jump (RB and LB since I use bumper jump). RT is the most frequent however. I've seen it happen more often when doing a weapon swap while turning then
immediately trying to fire. I'm not using the hairpin triggers for the RT on my elite.

The first few times that I saw this, I was under the impression that maybe I was caught up in the moment and just over analyzed the situation, thinking I should have made that move but didn't. This has been going on for weeks/months and I'm pretty convinced
that there is something going on. I'm not exactly saying that this is a Halo 5 issue or an elite controller issue, but one of our teammates didn't mention this until after he got his elite controller. I'm wondering if either the controller or
game gets backed up with inputs if you are doing too much at one time. With a normal controller this could be difficult to do but with the elite controller since you have the ability to hit more inputs, you could expose something.

Unfortunately there isn't much I can do to record this. I've only ever played H5 with my elite. I have a scuff that I could try to use, but due to the paddle layout I'm not sure I could reproduce it quite as well.

This could be all in my head, but I've just seen it too much at this point. I'm going to cross post in the waypoint forums as well.

Tough decision , get the elite with the sweet new controller or the Halo 5 Guardians console dang. I would probably get the Halo console because it's so nice looking and it has halo sounds when you power it up or eject a game.

elite controller, halo 5, fallout 4, tomb raider, and fable legends is everything i plan to purchase for the rest of the year

 

Ok the reason for this could be you are not closing out your apps after you have opened them

make sure you click the guide when leaving your game to go back to the home menu then press the start key over the game window that is minimized and select quit

if you dont quit the apps will continue to run in the background and consume console ram and create lag

look on youtube on how to close games on the xbox one

 

I can try this, however I can't specifically say that I've noticed this with other apps opened. Sometimes I go straight to Halo 5 from power on and have seen this. At most I would have one app running in the background. And by that I mean I would swap between
say twitch then go to Halo 5. If RAM was an issue I would think that I would see this more often than I do.
