Missing a game with gold for xbox one

I was out of town when metal gear solid V: Ground zero came out free for the xbox one, I couldn't get on my xbox one but I did have my xbox 360 with me. So I went ahead and did the thing where you can get the game from the xbox 360 and download it later
for the xbox one. But when I finally returned home and started up my xbox one, I could not find Metal gear solid V: ground zero ready to be downloaded and when I went to the game it self it wanted to charge me. So either I'm missing something or something
happened... Any help or info would be very helpful.

Buy a PS4 instead of just getting Gold?!!?!??!?!!! That's llike 40 months of Gold not to mention that's 80 free Xbox One games and 80 Xbox 360 you missed out on.

You can buy the games through the website (http://store.xbox.com) and they will be in your Download Queue when you pick up an Xbox One, provided you use the same account.

You can also 'purchase' the free Games with Gold (at no cost) so they too will be ready to download. In fact, you can actually do this right from your Xbox 360 dashboard: navigate to the Games with Gold tab, click A and it will show you the Xbox One games.
Simply purchase them and they will be added to your Xbox One queue, even if you do not have an Xbox One yet.

Note, however, that you will need to be a Gold member for Deals with Gold and Games with Gold; the account you used to post to the forums appears to only be Silver. Also note there is no way to get the free Games with Gold that you have missed, or the Deals
with Gold you have missed.

If you already got the game one way or another, then yes, you're "missing out" on the free Game with Gold.

For example, I bought "Never Alone" (the Xbox One Game with Gold for December/January) and Celeste during a sale, so I'm also missing out on three games with Gold.

So, yeah, that's how the Games with Gold program works. If you already own the "free" game they offer for that month, you already have that game. Period.

Also be aware that some gamers (like younger children with parental controls) could have been unable to get the game the first time, or just got a Xbox console and Gold membership this holiday season.

So they now get a chance to get a game that was offered several years ago that they missed.

As with everything in this world: You can't please everyone. And hardcore gamers like me that often buy games because I just had to have it RIGHT NOW, also miss out on the free game if it becomes a Gold game later.

Life's tough, but also unfair. Deal with it ;-)
