    Missed out on Sunset Overdrive (Games with Gold) due to not being able to activate Xbox Live ...


    Hi guys!

    I was referred here by Customer Support after having contact 4 time with them in the last week. The background:

    I had issues activating my Xbox Live Gold subscription on my new Xbox One. This issue was resolved in a period of 2 days. However on the day I tried activating 3 different codes (14-day trial that came with the Xbox One, 3 Month subscription I bought, 3 Month
    subscription provided by Customer Support) was also the last day of the offer of Sunset Overdrive on Games with Gold.

    Could someone please help me with this matter?

    Wait so you get 2 free games every month even if you stop paying for Gold??

    Yeah, unless something has changed recently, you get to keep your Xbox 360 gold games.

    But the Xbox One gold games you need to have an active subscription.

    Unfortunately once the Games with Gold promo period ends for the specific game there the no way to get it free after the fact. Sorry.

    I was told by 2 separate Customer Support agents in 2 separate conversations that most likely I'd get a copy because it was not my fault that the prepaid cards did not redeem properly. The agent that referred me to here told me that if I could show that
    if I could show it was because of a technical error on Microsoft's side - I'd get a new copy from the Promotions Team. It is not my fault that the server or whatever it was did not take neither the 14-day trial card that came with the Xbox One nor the 3 month
    card that I bought (and also did not take the number that was provided by Customer Support immediately).

    Could you please kindly see about this? Thank you very much. It's the principle, not the money. I did what I was supposed to do as a customer, that there are technical issues is really beyond my control. I respect the fact that there are many issues - but
    this is my first experience with Xbox One and it's not a good one, which sucks since I've been a fan since the Xbox and was an avid user and fan of the Xbox 360. Thank you.

    You can try contacting support again to see if there is anything they can offer, but once a promotion ends there is no way for anyone on the forums to change the price to that promotional price.

    14day trials don't work with games with gold and would cause issues with gold subscriptions as they cannot be stacked on trials
