How is this, overall, a non issue exactly? The OP only mentioned 720 versus 1080 as an example of one thing they're unhappy with, not the only thing. The issue is that they're unhappy with the system, which is not a "non issue" at all.
Umm... vote, I'm pretty sure there will be a noticeable difference playing Mass Effect on your new-ish PC compared to the 8 year old technology of the 360. That isn't resolution, that's ... well.... everything that a PC can do.

A better "test" would be to fire up your Xbox One, sit 10 feet away in your LazyBoy, and change the resolution of your TV from 720P and 1080P. Odds are, 90% of people won't be able to tell any difference.
Contrary to popular belief a PC doesn't automatically
make older games look better.

Demiurge did a great game with the port to PC but they didn't make it look any better. Really the only difference is the resolution (and then they messed up Garrus' face.)

Yet it does look better and that is because of the resolution.

I've played both versions of the game on both my 26" Sony Bravia and 22" Viewsonic monitor. I've played both sitting back 10 feet on my TV and both at my monitor sitting at my desk. Yes you can see the difference in both cases.

Asking MS to buy back a system for false advertizing is not going to happen. thus a non issue as it's a joke to even ask. Being unhappy with a purchase is called buyers remorse. The system details were available before purchase.

As of right now, the offer is Twenty Bucks.

I fail to see the issue at hand. I'm sorry the OP is unhappy with the purchase..... (I doubt he paid for it anyway) My apology in advance.

Please, review the original post again..... 1080 is not an "example" but, the reason why a refund was requested.

ports were also mentioned wich is also just untrue.

Silly topic IMO. Around $500 is/was the going rate for special edition 360 consoles also ..... Just throwing that bit of knowledege out there....

Indeed DC You are correct. Now try it on an old console CRT TV........ (just for fun)

The difference is being able to read text or not.

Will MS refund the price of my TV so I can upgrade and use the system to it's full potential????? (again just joking around for debat sake)

Bong, please don't get me wrong. I'm not agreeing with the OP that he should get a refund because some games aren't running at 1080p.

Rather it is the nonsense that people put out that you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. Yes you can tell the difference.

Sure resolution is not the single most important thing but it is important. To pretend otherwise and that you can't tell the difference is a lie.

In the end all that really matter is if you are enjoying the game.

I wish I could find a CRT TV to run a comparison on. One that would accept input from both my PC and 360. All I know are the results from the screens I own.

Agreed DC, that's why I jest.... All in good fun!!!!

What if you have glasses and your vision is not at 1080 anyway???

I picked up a few old CRT's at a thrift store to turn into Aquarium/Terrariums but, really I'm just to lazy to test...... misrepresented :)

I do wear glasses. Each of my eyes focuses differently, which is why 3D is useless for me as I can't see it.

Yet if I can see the difference then I just can't believe people who say they can't.

I do however think that even if the One released every game in 720p then it shouldn't matter as long as the game were fun. Would I like it if they were hitting 1080p in every game. Yes I would. But if 720p is what they need to make the game the best it can
be on the system then so be it.

9. I play ancient games all the time, so I guess I don't see why people are crying over graphics. Suck it up and play the damn game people.

Did you notice they are dropping the price of the xbox one paperweight and it hasn't been out a year yet, sales hurting? It's the pos os that slows it down so it can't run high end games fyi the ps4 junkstation does it no problem according to developers.

11. OS is ugly and clunky, But i'm only in it to play games. There's quite a difference visually with some ports, doesn't make them unplayable though. Cod ghosts is an obivous example, but it's a poc on both consoles. Anyway op, why not return it to the store
you bought it from? Like when you bought it

12. Maybe I am being a little bias with my stance on resolution and frame rate and you could probably throw in a little ignorance too due to my lack of understanding about how it all works. I just know that in my own preference, I only really mind when a game
doesn't run smoothly. Though I am using a TV that is pretty old and probably one of the first that supported HD input. I would probably see the difference side by side but I don't know if I would see the difference if I played the same game one after each
other in the different sets. If that makes sense.

To be fair i dont care about graphics, If a game is good its good, For instance Super Mario Brothers on SNES is better than battlefield in my opinion, Yeah one has exelent graphics, shadowing and lighting. But the other one had me playing well through till
midnight trying to kill bowser.

Im buying the one for ESO if it looked better on the "other" console i wouldnt care as long as the gameplay is great.

14. Good points there Pie.

Man that game brings back memories of Bowser in his stupid happy face ship at the end. I died on that game, a lot. lol. The short cut was nice though misrepresented :D

As for ESO I would get that myself had the sub not be there but I am confident that it will please those that commit to it misrepresented :)

Xbox One can run 1080p... Forza 5 is a living example at 1080p and 60fps.
