misrepresented

Since the xbox one was totally misrepresented, like it's inability to run 1080p and complete lack of anything that isn't a pos port, will microsoft buy back my 500 dollar paperweight that sits unused unless I watch netflix?

So, even though I would have pre-ordered it if it had the proper description and it was misrepresented on the Xbox Store, there is not any way to honor the way it was represented; hence providing me with the content I purchased?

 

I'll give you twenty bucks, games included.

 

If you're at least 25 years old, you'd remember the 80's/90's "bit war" amongst gaming consoles. Nobody knew what in the hell a bit was, but we all knew the NES only had 8, whereas the Genesis had 16.

This 1080P crap is the exact same nonsense. Odds are the OP can't even tell the difference between 2 images if one was 720P and the other 1080P. Not to mention that the One CAN in fact do 1080P.

 

Eggnoga - the difference between 8bit and 16bit was huge, it's really not the same thing at all. Maybe slightly similar, slightly

@Redeye -- It's an analogy. I wasn't comparing the graphical differences between 8 bit and 16 vs. 720P and 1080P. I was referencing the mentality of gamers in regards to this petty nonsense.

 

There will be updates to make sure it hits the 1080 mark. And I agree it's dumb to worry about. I honestly never really notice much of a difference graphic wise as games tend to look the same both ways anyways. At least on the 360 that is. The Xbox One will
hit 1080p and I doubt people will even notice.

 

That's about all the problem is ^ people noticing because of the announcements. Would anyone care if this information was never disclosed? I don't think so.

 

Change your dashboard to 720p and then to 1080p and tell me there is no difference.

True it's harder to determine with moving images but is certainly noticeable. Playing Mass Effect on the 360 for example and then running the PC version of the game on the same screen shows how much of a difference resolution makes.

Umm... vote, I'm pretty sure there will be a noticeable difference playing Mass Effect on your new-ish PC compared to the 8 year old technology of the 360. That isn't resolution, that's ... well.... everything that a PC can do.

A better "test" would be to fire up your Xbox One, sit 10 feet away in your LazyBoy, and change the resolution of your TV from 720P and 1080P. Odds are, 90% of people won't be able to tell any difference.

 

Well if they told everyone that it would do 1080p and did not it would be faulse avertisement or something along those lines and you could get a refund. If not then file with the BBB and request a refund from your cc. Got to look up the laws where you live.
