    Misleading store page and poor customer support


    Just a criticism of how the Deus Ex Mankind Divided store page stated that for a limited time receive a backwards compatible copy of Human Revolution when purchased. It did not say only for pre-orders. The only link I can find is from Major Nelson

    This message was on the store at the time of my purchase. After being bounced around a few times from different Microsoft support representatives, I was given a "thanks for understanding" and case closed. And it is, Sony will be getting the majority of
    my purchasing in the future.

    So recently my Xbox One started to malfunction, literally a month after my warranty ran out. Now as this is Australia and we have strong consumer protection under the Australian Consumer Law, I contacted Microsoft Support and told them I wanted them
    to repair the console at their expense. If you don't know, this is because the Consumer Law says that a product must last a reasonable amount of time without fault, and that if it does not last a reasonable amount of time, then the manufacturer needs to repair
    or replace at their expense. Now when I contacted an Xbox Support person via the online chat method, they had absolutely no idea what I was on about. Eventually they told me that they would pass the case up the ladder and I should get an email. After telling
    them my preferred email was my gmail account, they emailed my old hotmail account. Instead of addressing my complaint directly, they have just sent emails asking for details such as Serial number, Device number, etc. Now this has been going on for 2 and a
    half weeks without anything progressing. The last email I received from them asked me if I had changed my region or something. This is just stupid. All I want is for them to tell me that they either wil fix/replace for free or they won't. Instead I just get
    back and forth emails asking for useless information. Also, their English is absolutely terrible. Here's an example in an email from them, 'Did you do schnages on your account (ie. Account regiond chnage) after you have contacted us about this issue?
    Thanks!'. All those spelling mistakes are theirs, not mine. I feel like I am just being mucked around in the hope that I will just give up. What should I do?

    So they was more than willing to take care of the problem at no charge to you. But due to the fact they didn't give you freebies your boycotting the console? Wow.

    I am sorry that you are having such a difficult time with Microsoft Store Support. If you purchased the console online with your credit card then maybe try contacting your credit card company and ask them to refund the purchase for the lack of product delivery
    and problem resolution if you can't make any progress with Microsoft Store support as appears to be apparent from your extended description.

    Oh, I'm really sorry about the issues you have been having, it's never a good thing to go through with the added stress so close to Christmas I would suggest contacting your bank/credit card company and request a full refund and don't give up trying to resolve
    the issue. I hope it gets sorted out for you soon.

    I really can't imagine the stress and frustration you're currently going through but I hope you have a Merry Christmas and hope the New Year is a better one for you.

    I am really sorry to hear about this and hope the issue gets resolved soon. It is not a nice experience to go through especially so close to christmas.
