Misinformed and screwed...

I have a pre-order for the Project Scorpio Xbox One X Special Edition. I was on a chat yesterday with an agent with regard to possibly switching the payment method from my Bank card to credit in my Microsoft Account.

The agent couldn't do this at the time as there was only €30 of credit. But assured me that is could be done as so9 as there was sufficient credit on the account.

Today I purchased €470 credit and applied it to my account. Then contacted Chat Support, they couldn't help And told me that it hadn't been possible to do this for Xbox One X pre orders since July. The conservatives wasn't available for pre-order until late
August...

I spoke to someone on phone support who tried to do this for me, but said the system wouldn't allow it. But that I should call Microsoft Store support.

Microsoft Store Support said it wasn't possible, unless I cancelled the pre-order and re-pre-ordered. This would mean that I wouldn't get the Project Scorpio Edition...

I then tried Chat Support once more as Microsoft Store Support said a Supervisor there should be able to help.

Chat Support couldn't help, but assured me that the credit on my account wouldn't expire. This somewhat misses the point by a fairly large margin. The €500 I now have on my account was specifically ear marked for this pre-order. I applied it to my account
as I had been given to understand that it could be used to pay foe this pre-order in full.

The situation I now have is that Microsoft have €500 of mine, but seem unable (or unwilling) to use this to pay for a hardware pre-order in full. They seem to be of the opinion that I can create a further €500 between now and 7th November to pay for a pre-order
when Microsoft already has sufficient funds of mine to clear the pre-order in full.

All I want is for someone, and I REALLY don't care who, to apply the €500 on my Microsoft Account yo my console pre-order.

Why is this so very hard, or apparently impossible, for Microsoft to achieve?

it is very vibrant and worthwhile selling/buying games on ebay. In store you get screwed on trade in screwed on retail price (vs etail) or screwed on store credit forcing you to once again to pay store prices.

it is very vibrant and worthwhile selling/buying games on ebay. In store you get screwed on trade in screwed on retail price (vs etail) or screwed on store credit forcing you to once again to pay store prices.

exactly my point with the xbox one policy as it is you wont be able to sell your games on ebay or amazon thats my point.

 

I'm really sorry there but it's very rare that you can use Microsoft credit to purchase hardware, since the value of MS credit isn't quite that of actual money for Microsoft, since the stores that sell them etc take a cut. And console have such a low or
even negative profit margin.

All I can suggest is that you contact support and ask them to escalate this to a manager of some kind. Hopefully you kept a transcript of the chat that you had initially where they said that this could be done, or otherwise logged into your account with
the chat so they have a transcript of it on file. Then hopefully they can either reverse charge your card and transfer the €500 into your bank account, or remove it and send you a free console.

But as I say, I have never been able to purchase hardware, or even physical copies of games using Microsoft Credit, nor have I known anyone else to.

Also, it is possible that certain staff or some other select people were able to pre-order Xbox One X's before the general public back in July.
