    Okay, so I'm new to this, we bought our son a cd rom of minecraft yesterday. he loves it. Trouble is he's somehow managed to purchase the same thing through the xbox this morning. If MS can see that he had downloaded the cd before the purchase online
    would they refund?? do they ever refund in these circumstances??

    Ah yes. Sorry, mis-read that part. However, if the hard drive is dying then your only option will be to purchase a new one.
