    Minor account and buying games

    Hello

I recently paid for a game for my son.

I told him to use his account to buy it, yet his account is configured as a MINOR then I approved and paid for the game using my account. The reason I did this is so that on his XBOX he has in his mother house he can play that specific game without my account
    being logged in that xbox.

If I check the PAYMENT HISTORY on his account I do not see any, not even this one.

Then that game has been downloaded in my XBOX with my account (parent) and not his.. then.

I don't want to pay two times for the same game. He uses his xbox when at home of his mother and plays the same games when at my home.

Could anyone advise on how to handle this? How can I make the previous game downloaded to be linked to his account?

    thanks

    :)

I honestly feel this is on the parents. There are plenty of protections you can put in place to prevent "accidental" buying of items with your credit card or minor accounts.

  3. Xbox Games will not let me sign in "Parent approval needed"

    Hello,

"Parental approval" is needed if your account is open for a minor. In this case the minor account should get permission from the parent's account to play certain games.

  5. Hi Juantakum,

Microsoft doesn't allow refunds for digital games. It states it in the Terms of Service and in their FAQ for games.

    If you'd like, FAQ:

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/purchasing/buying-digital-game-faq#84d2d049be3f4a8a94861df70cbd...

It states in the FAQ right above "Related Issues":

    "

Can I get a refund for a digital game?
No. You can’t return a digital game and receive a refund or credit.

    "

But, most ambassadors and staff usually say to goto support (http://support.xbox.com/contact-us) or goto the billing department (Sign in to your Microsoft account)
and request a refund. Sometimes and most of the times you end of getting a refund.

Most people say you have to meet the following requirements:

    - Played the game for less than 2 hours on all accounts

    - Own it for 14 days or less

Hopefully this helps Minor account and buying games :)

    Home Xbox Scenario

    Thanks for getting back.

Sadly no, it can't be transferred from one account to the other, although they can share it with each other through home. Have you not tried purchasing the subscription on one of the minor accounts in order for them to share it with each other instead?
There is no need to purchase a second subscription because they do not share the games or even play the games between one another. Night and day difference.

Since I don't play video games myself, I'm not expecting to pay for this yearly subscription once the minors are old enough to be on their own. If Microsoft does not eventually allow a transfer, I guess these games will need to be purchased all over again should they still want/play, which doesn't make much sense.

I suppose for future reference, each game should be independently purchased through the particular Microsoft account. And that is where Microsoft needs to fix their system, during the purchasing point. With the "ask to buy" option turned on, a minor asks to buy something, then the adult gets notified, then the adult buys it but it's buying it for them; like a "gift". I learned my lesson last year, that it's easier just to add money to the minors' account so that purchase is strictly linked to the minor.

Why are 6 years old playing this game

What I should have said is it NEEDS to be made a law that minors are not allowed to play M rated games. Game stores need to refuse sales to minors and also parents if they believe that the game will go to a minor. Take for example a parent buying Call of
Duty when their 10 year old is right next to them. The salesperson should point out the rating and the description of said rating and refuse to sell it to them. There should also be a law that says if someone who is obviously a minor is playing multiplayer
in an M rated game that the adults in the game can contact Microsoft and have their account banned or shut down and their console bricked. Then the parents should be held accountable and punished.

    Hello Jayydood

it is likely that your microsoft account is for minors, that is why you are not allowed to buy, even if you have the $ in your account
