    Minimum size for an external drive ?


    Evening folks



    I'm looking at buying an external drive which will be an SSD. I've read all sorts of conflicting reports about the minimum size (it does say on the XBOX that its 256GB) however I've seen people state they've had 240GB and 250GB SD's working.



    Has anyone use a 240gb or 250gb SSD and had it working ?

    If you can get an external with a 7200rpm hdd then go for it, but the 5400rpm drives will work just fine. Note that the external hard drive
    MUST be USB 3.0 compliant. Minimum size of 256GB.

    Sorry but the minimum size requirement for an external drive is 256GB. The drive must also meet USB 3.0 requirements in order to function properly.

    Personally I don't see the point of getting a SSD drive, the improvement you get in load times isn't much better than just getting a good quality 7200rpm drive.

    I think you'd be better off getting a big 2TB 7200rpm drive, it will load faster than the standard HDD in the Xbox One, and you should never run out of space (unlike the small SSD)

    Just my opinion.

    Buy an external hard drive. It must be USB 3.0 and a minimum size of 256GB. The maximum is 16TB. You can install your games to the external and move games and off your internal to the external drive.
