  1. Minesweeper not starting


    Need solution to Minesweeper not starting. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it many times over multiple updates of Win 10 over the past year. The first splash screen appears, then the second. After a lengthy pause, the second splash screen vanishes.
    There are no processes left running according to Task manager. All other games: Solitaire, Hearts, Spades run without issue. I've found many "fixes" on the web but none work.

    What is the solution?

    The initial pub, when starting minesweeper, won't stop. Can't paly! can't get minesweeper board!!!

    How to prevent? Is it a bug?

    Adventure won't start

    solved it by:

    1. Closing minesweeper.

    2. Navigating (in file explorer) to C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftMinesweeper_8wekyb3d8bbwe

    3. renaming LocalState (to LocalStateOld).

    4. starting minesweeper (error logging on to xbox live)

    5. start adventure, click past tutorial, close mine sweeper.

    6. undo rename LocalState (back to LocalState).

    7. Start MineSweeper and play adventure, click past tutorial.

    Adventure boot out and reinstalling - good news

    Right-click on Minesweeper and click Uninstall.

    To reinstall you can search for it with Games or Store, or just start typing the word Minesweeper at the Start menu screen.

    Same issue for me! Once update from win8 pro to win8.1 pro, minesweeper always crashes on start. Green screen with minesweeper and MS logo, and then back to desktop.
